Breaking: Benghazi Attack Ringleader Captured in Secret Raid

Thanks Obama
US News • Views: 26,689

Who does the Obama administration think they’re fooling? This capture of a Benghazi ringleader is nothing more than a transparent attempt to distract people’s attention from Benghazi: U.S. Captures Benghazi Suspect in Secret Raid.

The officials said Ahmed Abu Khattala was captured Sunday near Benghazi by American troops, working alongside the FBI, following months of planning, and was now in U.S. custody “in a secure location outside Libya.” The officials said there were no casualties in the operation, and that all U.S. personnel involved have safely left Libya.

Abu Khattala’s apprehension is a major victory for the Obama administration, which has been criticized for having failed so far to bring those responsible for the Benghazi attacks to justice.

Yes, the White House let this guy run free for months, knowing that they’d need him in the event of a major political snafu. Which is why they didn’t capture him until now, because only his capture can take attention off…whatever wingnuts think is most important at the moment.

They’ll complain about the timing, why it took so long, and what about the others involved.

But that’s all the GOP can do these days - rage against governance.

What’s so ironic about the IRS thing is that if you ask a right-winger why it’s OK that black people get disproportionately stopped by the police, they’ll tell you that’s fine because black people are more likely to commit crimes.

But for some reason, even though Tea Party groups are more likely to be fronts for political spending, it’s not OK for the IRS to pay close attention to tax exemption claims from those groups.

From that story, the BLM has removed logos from its vehicles in the effort to reduce tensions.

I can’t help but think that’s the wrong strategy. These sovereign citizen/criminal sorts, wont care that the BLM logo isn’t on the vehicle when federal law enforcement tries to enforce lawful federal laws, court orders, etc., as it did with Bundy.

They ignore the law, so the BLM might as well do their jobs and make sure everyone knows it. And let everyone know who’s in the wrong here - and it isn’t the BLM.

No, you see, heavily armed white men couldn’t possibly commit an act of terrorism. If they did something, it would be an act of patriotism and standing up for freedom against the tyranny of the Federal Government.

Yes, a lot of the RWNJ’s really do think that way. Terrorism is only for brown people and/or Muslims in general.

The State Department is expected to tie Qumu’s group to the Benghazi attack when it designates three branches of Ansar al-Sharia, in Darnah, Benghazi and Tunisia, as foreign terrorist organizations in the coming days.

In 2007, Qumu was released from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and sent to Libya, where he was detained. The Libyan government released him in 2008.

He and two other men, militia leaders Ahmed Abu Khattala and Seif Allah bin Hassine, will be identified as “specially designated global terrorists,” a determination that allows U.S. officials to freeze their financial assets and bar American citizens and companies from doing business with them.

Look at this reasoning from GG who tries to impress the “socialists”. Talk about “conformist”.

“When we think that somebody’s watching us, our behavior becomes much more conformist, compliant and subservient, because we want to engage in the behavior that people want us to engage in, and will judge us positively for, rather than condemn us or look at us in an exclusionary kind of way.”

Maybe yours does, GG.

re: #314 Targetpractice

So what talking point will they settle on? “Too convenient!,” “There are still others responsible out there!,” or “He should be in Gitmo!”?

You act as if they operate by any coherent set of thinking that would require them to pick one…

They’ll use all three, rotating between them on alternate days - unless evidence comes to light that any of them are not true, at which point the untrue talking point will be dropped and the other two used more to make up the difference.

Speaking of the mighty GG, The Intercept has not published anything in 11 days.

Office cubicles are very empty right now. Lots of folks headed out to a bar to watch the game. And a lot in the lunch room - where there are sandwiches, popcorn, pretzels, and water ice.

The rule with the wingnuts now is that everything is a “distraction” until it becomes a “scandal.” Case in point, Bowe Bergdahl’s safe return was a “distraction” right up until they found a way to spin it as a “scandal.”

Once people on the hysterical right decided that Obama was a Muslim loving, America-hating impostor born in another country, then everything he does must have an ulterior motive. Any admission by the right of sincerity on his part would break the fever pitch narrative, which started back in 2007. This many years later, it won’t end.

Fact is, there is no “good” non-political time to get anything done. In a 24/7 news cycle unrelenting battle, everything can be seen through the prism of “suspicious timing” to win that day’s bullshit tug of war.

re: #56 Zamb

So how long does will it take for it to become TRUTH!!! that he was released by Obama from the rightwing crowd, 5-6 minutes?

Oh, the right wingers will turn him into one of the 5 Taliban released from Gitmo for Bergdahl. And given a TARDIS, I guess, in order to go back in time to 2012.
