Ann Coulter Takes Jim Hoft’s Misleading Bait, Says “We Saw X-Ray of Wilson’s Fractured Eye Socket”
As I pointed out on Tuesday in this article, far right blogger Jim Hoft apparently deliberately tried to mislead his readers into believing that a random example image of a CT scan he posted was actually an image of Darren Wilson’s purportedly fractured eye socket. Hoft erased the words “UNIV OF IOWA” from the image he posted, and his text did not make it clear it wasn’t Wilson’s CT scan:
And guess who took Hoft’s misleading bait, and is now promoting this false claim as a “fact” to her enormous audience of right wing readers? Would you believe… Ann Coulter? Ann Coulter - August 20, 2014 - NO FACTS, NO PEACE.
This week, we saw the X-ray of Officer Wilson’s fractured eye socket.
No, Ann, you did not. You saw a CT scan of an unnamed child with a fractured eye socket, posted years ago at numerous medical websites, scrubbed of its identifying information by Jim Hoft.
The rest of Coulter’s piece is her usual race-baiting rubbish, but this is another case study in how false information spreads through the right wing universe.
