Those World Leaders Who Were at the Paris Demonstration? They Weren’t Actually at the Paris Demonstration.

A photo op
World • Views: 63,132

As American media goes into all-out concern troll mode because President Obama didn’t join other world leaders at the demonstration in Paris, it should be pointed out that those world leaders weren’t actually at the demonstration either.

They were in a separate isolated area, under heavy security. This was a staged photo op, made to look like they joined the marchers spontaneously.

The people complaining about his absence are the same people who’d complain if he went. They complain. That’s what they do.

And as it turns out, it’s even more of a photo op than what the initial ground level photos would have you believe as the high-angle shot shows.

CNN doesn’t report on the fact that this photo was a staged photo-op but did note that more than 2,300 security forces were deployed for the security of the marchers.

Tapper noted that security has been tenuous. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and other officials said 2,300 police officers, as well as paramilitary forces, would be deployed Sunday. The dignitaries and leaders were to be protected by special units.

Police snipers, plainclothes and anti-terror officers were deployed, and parking and transit restrictions were in place. The government planned to close large sections of the city to traffic, Cazeneuve said.

Zakaria observed that security concerns didn’t dissuade Netanyahu or Abbas or other controversial leaders from showing up. The bright side, he said, is that Obama’s absence showed that the struggle against radical Islam is “not all about America.”

“Many people have tended to think that Islamic terrorism wouldn’t exist without America,” Zakaria said. “This is really a struggle between the civilized world and a band of extremists. Even if you take the U.S. out of it … the civilized world is up in arms.”

French investigators are still trying to piece connections between three terror suspects killed Friday and their suspected links to al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and other terrorist groups. Security will remain heightened as the investigations continue, officials have said.

So, a number of other foreign leaders showed up, including Netenyahu (which makes sense since several of those killed were Jews and were being buried in Israel).

Difference between Ali Khameini and Bryan Fischer is a Gillette blade and a can of Barbasol.

I can’t help but think that Ayatollah Khameini may actually be less demented than Fischer.

I remember a few years ago, I was poking around on the web, and found a website (in English) of some various fatwas by Khameini. One of them said it was perfectly find for Shi’a Muslims to say “Merry Christmas”, and even attend Christmas parties with one’s Western friends. His rationale was that Jesus is a prophet in Islam, and even though no one knows the date of his birth, Christmas is a holiday that celebrates his birth, and there’s nothing haram in celebrating the birthday of a prophet.

I gotta admit…..I was surprised. So yeah…….Khameini may actually be somewhat more tolerant in some areas than Bryan Fischer.

That says something.

It really is scary to me how much he, Robertosn, and others resemble these guys. Why worry about Shariah law when you got Fischer who would be perfectly happy to return to the Dark Ages where the church ahd all the power.

For point #4 above, the American Taliban is reasonably close to seizing power peacefully in the US via control of the GOP. That has relegated support of violent terrorism to the fringes of that movement, for now.

In 2002, I told a lady friend that parts of a sermon we attended about disciplining children sounded like the Taliban. She was not pleased.

Specifically, there were quotes from the OT about how to deal with — I’ll say “problem child”. The “due process” was for the father to speak to one of the elders about it, a meeting of the elders (and maybe the father & mother) to discuss the problem, and the elders then to decide on punishment. Typically that meant death. All without any advocate for the child, and probably without his/her even being informed of the process.

No worries there, since, unless you’re paying for a business or first-class ticket (or are flying certain long-haul routes or international), most domestic airlines these days don’t give passengers much more than a can of Coke and a bag of mini-pretzels (and a cookie, if you’re lucky enough to fly Frontier).

Well, sure, but he did run in the primary and McCain won, then picked Palin…

The GOP establishment wasn’t going to let that happen again and they’ll be damn sure not to allow Romney to run just to lose. Jeb Bush is going to be their choice, although there’s a lot of family baggage connected with him and people will talk about it, one way or another.

I am officially on a job hunt again, and I couldn’t be happier.

After my (now-ex) managers basically had a fire sale on performance improvement plans for my team and my floor I was in the process of updating my resume. I’m exceeding my overall sales quota several times over and am at 95% or higher for my daily call rate and I’m on a performance improvement plan? Bitch plz.

Then came my paycheck for this last pay period. They changed the rules on what sales I bonus on without telling me. Basically, they decided that it didn’t matter how much money I brought into the company overall. I was only going to bonus on outbound sales. Last month I bonused on BOTH inbound AND outbound. They decided this without warning, screwing me on my last paycheck.

Today was the last straw. I had a customer call late Thursday afternoon wanting to make some changes to his product plans. I told him the contract would go out by close of business Friday or by Monday morning the latest. He called this morning asking where his contract was. Today is Monday. Suddenly I’m being dragged to my manager’s office and being told that I’m going to be written up because I didn’t send a contract out fast enough. Really? When the first call came in on Thursday right before 5pm and I was up to my eyeballs on Friday trying to meet the “performance improvement” metrics I’d been saddled with? Pfft. I asked for a bag or a box so I could clean out my desk instead, and I left.

Yeah, I’m looking for work, but I left the office with a smile on my face. They did me a favor by being unreasonable assholes. I’m glad for it. Maybe now I can find a job that’s worth my skills and my time.

I mean, 36 hrs notice? Maybe Merkel, Cameron and the others only had a short flight and less security concerns for a dog and pony show, but who would have expected someone who has already been threatened hundreds, if not thousands of times, to be ready to participate in such an event on such short notice? And if anything fatal had occurred, even Joe Biden would not have been a good choice, given our line of succession.

So, a number of other foreign leaders showed up, including Netenyahu (which makes sense since several of those killed were Jews and were being buried in Israel).

It actually sounds like PM Netanyahu, Abbas, Pres. Obama and VP Biden weren’t actually invited.

Haaretz claims that Hollande’s admin sent signals to Netanyahu and Abbas that they preferred they didn’t attend the rally, and that the Shin Bet was also worried about the difficult security situation at the event, and so the PM initially announced he wouldn’t be attending the rally. Abbas also announced he wasn’t coming. Then, on the last minute news that FM Avigdor Lieberman and Minister Naftali Bennett decided to go, the PM reversed himself and also announced he was coming.

According to Andrea Mitchell, citing an “official,” Obama and Biden didn’t receive an invitation either, perhaps because of how disruptive to the city and the event their security would have been. Mitchell also speculates in her tweet that maybe they signaled not to be asked, so perhaps there’s yet another goofy avenue for this media outrageous outrage to pursue.

Mitchell also speculates in her tweet that maybe they signaled not to be asked, so perhaps there’s yet another goofy avenue for this media outrageous outrage to pursue.

As with many things with this administration, they were damned if they did go to Paris themselves and damned if they didn’t, even with the valid points about the POTUS’/VPOTUS’ security needs for such a long-haul trip on such short notice.

No way to “win”, especially since the so-called “liberal” media outlets have taken the “if you can’t beat them, lamely ape them” approach to competing with Fox News and the RWNJ blogosphere over the past few years.

They remind me of the last self-winding watch movements designed in America by Elgin - technologically advanced, super cool, but with several Achilles’ heels. If you collect them, you buy 2 parts movements for every running watch you have, since the stocks of the parts that break have long been used up

I have an old self winding watch I could use as a weapon.

It’s a classic diversion move. Fox & the wingnuts, they want to continue hating on Muslims, but the Muslims attacked French dudes that were also banging away on narrow-minded religious nutcase bigots. Which is their whole base. But the public is united in wanting to stand behind freedom of expression, and they’ve got to surf the tide or they’ll be exposed for the frauds they are.

So they seize on some minor point, blow it up out of proportion, and dance around and point at it like it’s the only thing that matters (see also: Benghazi, “death panels,” the misdemeanors of black citizens shot & killed by cops, etc.).

I was just hoping we would have moved on from this stupid fiasco, a decade later. Especially when Danish Muslims themselves have realized their folly and learned from this.

I was really optimistic that we wouldn’t have these recurring controversies involving the use of caricatures depicting Mohammed after the embarrassing reactions in the Muslim world in 2006 or so.

But we still have to relive the guilt, and embarrassment of what these dipshits have accomplished.

An American Muslim scholar by the name of Omar Suleiman said it well, directed at the keyboard jihadis mainly:

“What is more insulting to the Prophet 𞘺llallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) than satirical cartoons are those who murder innocent people in his name.”

“‘And We have sent you not (Oh Muhammad) but as a mercy to all the worlds’ [Qur’an 21:107]. Innocent people were killed including a Muslim cop, the cartoons you supposedly hated are now published in millions of papers, Islamophobia is now even more widely accepted, da’wah efforts set back immensely, a‪#‎KillAllMuslims hashtag, Mosques being attacked in France and elsewhere, hate crimes against innocent Muslims and even “Muslim looking” people, and of course this was all conveniently as France was debating recognizing an independent Palestine. And you extremists are proud of these actions? Good luck facing your Lord with all of the above on the Day of Judgment.”

Women-only pool hours are not for the religious women only. A woman swimmer, who’s not Olympic caliber, who tries to swim laps in a pool with men, will just get pushed out of the way.
