American Thinker Comes Up With the Craziest Obama-Iran Conspiracy Theory Yet

Great googly moogly!
Wingnuts • Views: 27,887

I know it’s only April, but I think we may already have the most insanely paranoid wingnut conspiracy of the year — because it’s difficult to imagine anything getting crazier than this one: Is Obama Arming Iran for a Secret Reason?

The link goes to American Thinker, and you may think you know what the “secret reason” is already (probably something to do with Obama being a secret Muslim commie, right?)… but trust me, you don’t.

I’ll let Thinker Jeannie DeAngelis explain the reasoning that leads her to conclude Obama is helping Iran get nuclear weapons … because a nuclear winter would put an instant stop to climate change!

Surely the president is well aware that U.S. government computer models predict that even a small nuclear war anywhere on the planet could trigger “unprecedented” global cooling. With global warming the culprit, cooling, however it’s accomplished, would provide a quick fix for the guy in need of a boost in the polls.

Sure, a small-scale nuclear war would cause global cooling, further reduction of the ozone layer, and harmful ultraviolet radiation. That, in turn, would usher in death, disease, and drought due to things like lack of rainfall.

But ultimately mass starvation and plague could deliver positive results, particularly for the growing problem of overpopulation. Then, in due time, as millions die off, the president’s credibility would be greatly improved among organizations concerned with controlling world population, like the U.N., and his legacy as a transformative leader would be secured.

If Iran lobbed a nuke at Israel, smoky, dusty, ashy high-carbon clouds would block the warmth of the sun. That, coupled with radioactive fallout, would usher in a “nuclear winter” capable of instantly stopping the destructive heating trend Obama so passionately believes is wreaking havoc in places like the Florida Everglades.

But most importantly, thanks to superb forethought and unprecedented planning, global warming would cease, and global cooling would commence.

Either way, for many — including the entire nation of Israel — the perplexing question for a long time has been: why is a U.S. president helping the Iranians acquire an atomic bomb? The thought of it didn’t seem to make much sense.

But now, the idea of a small-scale nuclear war being environmentally friendly could actually be a stroke of genius.

On Earth Day, at the edge of the swamplands, the motivation behind the former president of the Harvard Law Review negotiating with the Ayatollah may be falling into place. Could it be that Barack Obama’s long-term goal is to help Iran acquire the nukes necessary to finally put an end to global warming?

Some swivel-eyed loon out there in a survival bunker is going to have to work really hard to top this one.

So where does this come in time wise?

Will the limited nuclear war occur before or after Obama comes for all the guns? What about sending all his critics to FEMA camps?

I mean, Obama only has about 18 months or so to get this all done. Where will he find the time?

“For too long, Steve King has overstepped his constitutionally nonexistent judicial authority,” Polis said. “Mr. King has perverted the Constitution to create rights to things such as discrimination, bullying, and disparate treatment. These efforts to enshrine these appalling values as constitutional rights were not envisioned by the voters, or by King’s colleagues who must currently try to restrain his attempts to single-handedly rewrite the nation’s founding principles on a bill-by-bill basis.

“I urge the House to bring this bill to the floor. If passed, my bill would preserve the right of millions of voters in all 50 states who would prefer that Steve King refrain from legislating a role for himself in their marriage decisions.”

The thing most frustrating with a lot of these conspiracy loons is that there is no accountability. None. I mean, at all. These loons position themselves as vanguards and guardians of “personal responsibility” and “truth telling” and “just asking questions” yet when time and time again their rants end up as nothing but hot air- nothing. No apology. No “sorry, I done goofed up.” Nothing.

Well, there is the conventional wisdom that a president at or above 50% approval helps the nominee of his/her party win elections. 47-49% is more of a toss up and under that is no good.

That said…wow! That is one kooky article!

29 Kragar  Apr 24, 2015 3:53:11pm

re: #23 syphonblue

Sure, you want to think it doesn’t make sense, but consider this:

Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense! Why would a Wookiee, an 8-foot-tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of 2-foot-tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I’m talkin’ about Chewbacca! Does that make sense?

And really, how can you argue with that?

If anyone else grabbed one, you really need to install the 1mobile Market app on it. Gives you access to a LOT more apps than are in the Amazon app store, including the 1Password Reader.

Straight from the source:

Global Warming Fraud Unmasked

For roughly twenty years, a warning has rung out against the supposed dangers of what was once called “global warming” but which now wears the more ambiguous designation of “climate change.” Its ideological precursors were found in the “new ice age” scare of the 1970s and the “nuclear winter” scare of the 1980s. Both those ‘end of the world’ scenarios ran their course. Now anthropogenic ‘climate change’ — like 2012 mumbo-jumbo — might make for a great movie, but the ‘science’ has always been joined to an extremely aggressive and extensive political agenda, and that ought to sound an immediate warning

New Kinloch mayor blocked by police from entering city hall

KINLOCH, MO (KTVI) - Our Fox 2 cameras were the only ones there as the newly-elected Kinloch mayor was greeted by police for her first day on the job.

Betty McCray was not only prevented from entering city hall, she was also told she’d been impeached before she got a chance to start.

McCray ran for mayor in the April 7 election and won.

“I won. The people spoke,” McCray said. “I was sworn in by the St. Louis County. Today I take office. I want them out, I want the keys.”

After the election results were certified earlier this week by the St. Louis County Board of Elections, Kinloch’s outgoing administration refused to allow the city clerk to give McCray the oath of office, claiming voter fraud.

Get a load of this:

A lawyer for Kinloch says he misspoke after this story aired. He says the new mayor is not impeached, she is suspended. They realized there is a process that the city must go through before they can impeach her. He says the mayor has been served with articles of impeachment on Thursday. Newly-elected mayor Mayor Betty McCray says she never got them. Kinloch cannot hold an impeachment hearing until 30 days after the papers are served.

How in the fuck can the new mayor, whom the current administration refuses to allow to be sworn in, be suspended or impeached?

172 goddamnedfrank  Apr 24, 2015 6:39:19pm

Jeannie’s post could almost be hyperbole, exaggerate Obama’s position in order to illustrate some underlying truth (from the wingnut perspective.) Only problem is A.) That’ still not satire, B.) it’s still nonsensical, and C.) as other’s have stated her own followers / commenters at AT saw it as a valid earnest analysis.

You see this frequently, conservatives confusing satire with snark and hyperbole, and confusing the latter two with their own ridiculous fever dreams of liberal global domination schemes. This all goes to illustrate why conservative “humor” so often isn’t funny, because humor works by subverting our expectations, and conservatives hate having their expectations subverted. So Jeanie ends up making, intentionally or not, a caricature of her own audience’s position, a reflection in a funhouse mirror, and instead they validate it as valid and accurate. This is also partially because they can’t possibly look at Obama and see even the potential for genuine or honest motives, everything he does has to be some nefarious plot to undermine democracy, murder his enemies and retain power at any cost.

And therein lies Jeannie’s problem, it’s impossible to exaggerate that.

Bruce Jenner should run to be the GOP nominee for president this cycle, that will certainly shake things up.

re: #141 CuriousLurker

Based on the comments at American Thinker, it looks like most of the wingnuts totally missed the “satire” as well.

The comments are hilariously absurd. I like the one that starts, “This ph*cker [Obama] is ruining my life on a daily basis with his words and actions.”

Anyone who thinks the president’s words are ruining their life probably has a really fucked up life, and a mental disorder, to begin with. Either that or they have no clue what the president’s job entails.

I couldn’t stand W, with his silly macho posturing, thoughtless rhetoric (“I’m a war president” with a smile on his face), and his blind commitment to the neocon project. But I, like most of you, realized that his shitty tenure in office didn’t “destroy America” or really even have much of an effect on my day to day life. We survived their idiot, they’ll survive our smart guy.

Like many Hollywood righties, Jenner is probably socially liberal but politically anti-tax, even though his federal taxes are the lowest they’ve been since Hoover.

And I thought my neighbor’s newborn’s poop smelled bad.

Yes, I did register just for that. That’s how moved I was when I saw this ridiculous hate orgy. All directed at a piffle written by somebody’s grandma. Hey Jeannie - maybe to make things easier for us poor blinkered souls who don’t understand your “satire,” you could go through this list of your posts at American Thinker and let us know which ones are serious and which ones are attempts at satire:

donotlink.com

The thing is, they all seem equally deranged, so it’s pretty hard to decide which ones are supposed to be satire. If you could clue us in, that would be a big help.

You don’t have to censor the word shit here. Example: you, Becerra/Jeannie/whatever, are an unmitigated and irredeemable piece of shit.

You’re also the kind of dutiful and mindless robot who continues to peddle the same debunked bullshit about Obama, and you inevitably find something sinister in everything he does. If you’re really somebody’s granny, it’s getting close to time for you to shuffle off this mortal coil. Your mid 20th century views no longer apply. We can all rejoice that soon you’ll be getting the fuck out of the way (aka dying) so that a new and more rational generation can continue consigning your retrograde “philosophy” to a thing of our sick and distant past.

Did you have a senior moment?

That’s the only one of your posts that wasn’t total nonsense, and it was still a fuckup. Your other comments are just cretinous variations on “Obama blah blah blah Obama bad, dur dur, I’m an old imbecile.”

Thanks for playing.

240 lostlakehiker  Apr 26, 2015 8:46:39am

The level of casual malice here is jaw-dropping. The author never thought once about what she was saying—-

(1) Small-scale nuclear war. As if it would stay small. Israel would not sit quietly if a couple of nukes were detonated over her cities. Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, and other cities would be hit in retaliation. And Iran would launch the rest of its arsenal, and Israel would hit some more places. Pakistan and India would be on hair-trigger alert, and who can know where it would go from there?

(2) Instantly solving global warming.

Assuming the nuclear war didn’t go worldwide, [and it probably wouldn’t, but one doesn’t take one percent chances in this game, getting back to the point of casual malice], the world would recover economically within a decade or so from the famine that would result from widespread crop failures during the nuclear winter years. Half or more of the world’s population would survive. Probably closer to 95 percent. But they’d be economically pinched, and in less of a position to fund ambitious and optimistic futuristic energy initiatives.

Good old coal would be the order of the day.

And for a few more years, there’d be no problem, as the soot continued to settle out. But stratospheric soot doesn’t have a hang time of 50 years. By and by, we’d be right back on track, with clear skies and thicker-than-ever CO2 blankets. The whole miserable fiasco wouldn’t have significantly put off global warming, much less solved it. Instead, that problem, along with just about every other problem, would have been made worse.

(3) The Democrats would never arm Iran with nukes. That would be political suicide and the permanent end of the party. Obama couldn’t implement such a policy even if he, personally, were committed to it. An absurdity of its own, but in chasing down chains of logic, one must entertain absurdities to refute them.

Now Iran is probably going to get nukes. There doesn’t seem to be any way to stop it, not one that would be pain-free and risk-free enough for our tastes. North Korea, with less to work with, has already done so, after all. But we won’t have given them our own, working weapons.

So then we will just have to hope that Iran has sense enough to think more deeply into the consequences than Jeannie. And not play with fire.
