Michelle Obama Talks About Overcoming Prejudice, Breitbart Commenters Spew Torrents of Racist Hatred

Outright racism again
Wingnuts • Views: 28,165

In a speech to the graduating class of Tuskegee University, Michelle Obama talked about how she had to deal with fear, misperceptions and prejudice as the first African American First Lady.

And then the commenters at Breitbart “News,” the hate site Andrew built, spewed an unbelievably awful deluge of racist hatred at her: FLOTUS: As First African-American First Lady I Faced Fear, Misperceptions - Breitbart.

This happens every time they post something about Michelle Obama, of course.

The comments following are from just the first few pages of more than 2000 similar disgusting remarks; I’m hiding them by default because they’re not safe for work, or for human beings in general for that matter. These people are completely deranged at this point, and Breitbart’s business model is to get them worked up and then let them have an orgy of debased hatred.

Correction-first African American transvestite

You might be African but you sure aren’t American.

She is a HATE filled Negro, a true RACIST and anti-American.

[…]

How many times have people mistaken her for a tranny?

I did have a misperception…how did a Wookie become the FLOTUS? Later—of course—I was set straight, though it is easy to confuse a Sasquatch with George Luca’s fictional pilot of the Millienium Falcon.

I’ll be glad when monkey face is gone!

Just like her Muslim husband, Mooch is despicable. She says all her woes are caused by her skin color. If she really believes that why not do what Michael Jackson did?

Whiten up girl, don’t delay!

[…]

I never had any misconceptions about her….she makes a baboon look pretty.

[…]

She always looks like she’s ready to bite someone’s ear off.

[…]

I bet she could, just like Tyson. Wouldn’t surprise me. I wouldn’t get close enough.

[…]

Do ya ‘spose anyone trusts an administration which is FEEDING ITS OWN CITIZENRY TO THE SAVAGE DOGS OF RADICAL JIHADISM…………….?

[…]

I wish I could rip a big one in her face.

Affirmative Action imputes a perception of qualification where none exists.

[…]

We will NOT see another black president in our lifetime.

[…]

She is only an “affirmative action” flotus. She really needs to get over herself.

[…]

‘Lady’ is hardly the word to describe this beast…………..so many stereotypes have been confirmed. The White House will have to be razed when these grifters are finally sent packing.

[…]

yup, can’t power wash or steam clean that much afrosheen off. Plus the stench will never go away.

[…]

Moosh intends to totally trash the place before she vacates.

Shut-up you dumb whoore.

No Michael/Michelle more like America’s First Drag Queen.

If you talk like a jigger.

If you act like a jigger.

Poor me, blahhh blahhh blahh, Poor Me, Blah blah, Poor Me, blah, Poor Me. That’s all I heard from the tranny.

is sicklecell still around and taking black lives ?

[…]

is it true that she is transgendered? I heard that somewhere but didn’t know if it was just namecalling or that is true…it would make sense as to a lot of her husbands pro lgbtq type things

If she didn’t act like a thug she would not be treated like a thug. She is an embarrassment to this nation.

Shut up mooch and go make repairs on the Millennium Falcon.

Reading the tweets and Breitbart comments makes me want to vomit. Chief Justice “racism isn’t a problem anymore” Roberts should be forced to read this stuff non-stop until he gets a clue. That’s assuming of course that he doesn’t have a clue; he could very well know the truth but not care or worse, actually agree with the commentators.

It’s a very good speech; reading the Breitbart comments about it, it’s as if they were listening to some kind of distorted alternate universe version. They’re all ranting about how angry she was — but there’s no actual anger in the speech at all.

It’s disturbing how crazy the right wing base has gotten.

There’s nothing even remotely provocative in Michelle’s words. All she has to do is talk about race, even in a relatively innocuous way, and the right freaks out, claiming this is evidence of her radicalism, hatred of whites, whatever. Reminds me of when she planted a vegetable garden and was immediately accused of being a Stalinist who wanted to ban all junk food.

Speaking at Tuskegee and not mentioning race would be like speaking at Liberty University and not talking about Jesus. This is only a story to the far right, who despite their claims that liberals are race obsessed, just cannot stop talking about nearly everything in racial terms (crime, immigration, terrorism, social safety net programs, etc).

Teabaggers and their hateful ilk know a simple fact: Obama couldn’t have won without heavy support from blacks and other minorities. Hence the continuing RW demonization of all “others”, since they’re the ones responsible for the big bad Kenyan in the WH. The attitude of far too many phony aggrieved whites is, “Whites didn’t elect him, they voted majority GOP. And fuck the people who did elect him because they’ve destroyed America.”

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald Visit Institute For Creation Research, Look to Prove God Exists

“This morning, Jessa and I had the privilege of visiting the Institute for Creation Research! We got to tour and meet all the scientists there!”

“Really cool! Got to chat with Dr. Jason Lisle.”

Dr. Lisle, he says, has made “a number of scientific discoveries regarding the solar photosphere and has contributed to the field of general relativity.”

“He graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University; he double-majored in physics and astronomy and minored in mathematics.”

[…]

In Lisle, and his impressive credentials, Seewald sought to show fans that scholars and science are not diametrically opposed to creationist thinking.

The royal families of Europe are so inter-connected that assigning them a nationality is rather arbitrary, anyway. Elizabeth II’s children and grandchildren have refreshingly given up marrying “foreigners” and sticking with British citizens, a decision that’s very wise for a myriad of reasons.

She said, that way the government can’t come get their guns and they’ll have their machetes to protect themselves. But it’s not only the government she’s protecting herself from, there’s also ISIS. ISIS is going to take over. Forget that fact that her machetes wouldn’t do a damn thing against their AK 47’s. lol My Mom tried really hard not to laugh and asked where she heard all of this. She said Ted Nugent, Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh. According to her information, ISIS is taking over cities ALL OVER the world.

One of the folks involved in designing it, yeah. It was a group effort - there’s actually a thread that walks through it which is kind of neat.

We’ve seen a swatch in person and I don’t really think the photos do it justice - it’s absolutely lovely. Since he’s been debating a second one for a bit (more traditional pleating than his first kilt, which is a historic style), it’s a strong candidate. (He’s not Scottish by heritage, so we tend to avoid the more clan-associated ones.)

West said Zimmerman had recently moved out of Florida was in town for Mother’s Day. He was on his way to a doctor’s appointment before the alleged shooting.

“George was driving down the road on Lake Mary Boulevard. This guy was sort of following him and flashing lights and such. (Zimmerman) decided to get away from him, decided to make a U-turn. And this guy made a U-turn right behind him and then pulled up alongside him and shot at him,” West said.

LOL, does Zimmerman’s lawyer’s story even pass the smell test? If Zimmerman moved out of Florida and was just back in town for Mother’s Day how in the fuck would Apperson know where and when to find him? Apperson OTOH sill lives there and Zimmerman has been documented following him before.

Apperson told a 911 dispatcher Tuesday morning that he was driving his Honda Accord on Lake Mary Boulevard, made a U-turn and headed west-bound when a Honda Ridgeline truck pulled alongside and someone inside rolled down his window.

“George Zimmerman was the driver, and they were threatening to kick my ___ and to shoot me,” Apperson told the dispatcher.

Apperson said he pulled into a Circle K to find a phone so he could call for help when the Ridgeline made a maneuver to block him and “almost hit my car.”

Zimmerman “said he was going to shoot me dead,” Apperson told the dispatcher.

According to a police report, a store surveillance video showed that as Apperson was walking into the store, the Ridgeline left.

So Zimmerman didn’t just exchange words with Apperson during the first road rage incident, he was documented following him to the Circle K, tried to block Apperson from going in and then left as he was walking into the store. Also Zimmerman used the “I’m on my way to a doctor’s appointment” excuse before back in September, two days after the first incident, when police found him apparently following Apperson around.

Two days later, Apperson called Lake Mary police again to report that he believed Zimmerman had followed him and was watching his movements.

Police investigated, found Zimmerman in his Ridgeline nearby, pulled him over and questioned him. He told them he had a doctor’s appointment in a nearby building.

Interesting how Zimmerman always seems to be on his way to a doctor’s appointment when he gets in trouble following Apperson. Hopefully the police will charge Zimmerman with felony stalking and menacing.

149 GlutenFreeJesus  May 11, 2015 9:46:36pm

This probably explains things:

Christianity faces sharp decline as Americans are becoming even less affiliated with religion

Christianity is on the decline in America, not just among younger generations or in certain regions of the country but across race, gender, education and geographic barriers. The percentage of adults who describe themselves as Christians dropped by nearly eight percentage points in just seven years, according to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center.

“It’s remarkably widespread,” said Alan Cooperman, director of religion research for the Pew Research Center. “The country is becoming less religious as a whole, and it’s happening across the board.”

At the same time, the share of those who are not affiliated with a religion has jumped from 16 percent to about 23 percent in the same time period. The trend follows a pattern found earlier in the American Religious Identification Survey, which found that in 1990, 86 percent of American adults identified as Christians, compared with 76 percent in 2008.

[…]

The changing face of America is not something with which the throwbacks can deal gracefully.

Along with the loss of the religious beliefs comes the need to replace the functions religion fills with other things.

I still maintain, broken record that I am, that the worldview change is causing many people to work out their existential despair and that is why see all this infantile rantings here and there and the collapsing-universe memes that are so common.

Don’t forget, this is a “private” school which depends on the GA “Hope Scholarship” program for students established by Zell Miller and based on the GA lottery, and she found the pot of gold: tntacademy.com

I’d expect to see Black students leave the school itself in droves; she’ll be fired for some mickey mouse reason, not because shes a racist, if she’s fired at all since she’s the “beloved founder” of the school, Expect her to start talking about “stress” and, of course, “death threats” at some juncture.

The racism expressed on Britefart is by those who would never utter a word like that in person to a Black person because the writers are cowards unless they’re in the same company as themselves. They’re resentful white supremacists who live in a shadow world of their own delusions of white supremacy and utter failure.

I didn’t click on the “reveal” button because it’s just the same old, same old racists have been spouting for years because hate, and even the threat of hellfire and damnation can’t shake them from it. It’s easy to spout that shit through the anonymity of the internet, it’s just a bit rarer to see someone like her lose her racist shit so publicly. But her “god” will forgive her, doncha know.

Here I think it has a broader application to the way Chinese parents rule over their children’s lives even after marriage and parenthood.

Had lunch today with a group of students working on a skit for an English drama contest. It’s a modern romance involving two male roommates, who discover at the end of the skit that each is in love with the other. It’s light-hearted, and the students are aware that the Chinese judges might not appreciate the subject matter, but they don’t care. They’re going to perform it anyway.

It was a bright spot in an already great day.

In October 2014, Auernheimer published an article in the neo-Nazi blog The Daily Stormer in which he revealed himself to be a white nationalist. He displayed photographs of his tattoos, one in the shape of a Swastika. He described his prison time as “thousands of hours yelling the Eddas at the top of my lungs and scrawling runes on the concrete walls”.[44][45] In 2012, Auernheimer had told Gawker that he had Jewish ancestry[46]
Auernheimer is currently living in Lebanon, in order to avoid further prosecution from America.[47]

SO, I’ve been reading/listeneing to quite a bit of Octavia Butler.

Obviously, I like the writing.

Right now, I’m almost finished with the Parable of the Sower. It’s terrifing that in 1993, she was so close to the truth of what things could be like in 2025.

She certainly has a good understanding of the possibilities of human behavior.

My only problem with the book is that she states everyone gives up dogs and pets because they cannot afford them. It seems to me that in this type of dystopia—dogs would be a necessity. For all the traditional reasons man partnered with dogs.

It’s a problem I have with a lot of fantasy/sci-fi books. They leave out the pets.

I can’t imagine a merchant space ship without cats —can you? I mean, like old trading ships —you got food, you got vermin, therefore you need cats.

I’d think you’d need at the very least cats in space—on sterile, ships in cold space, pets could do much to maintain human sanity on long interstellar flights.

58 years ago, Eric Frank Russell wrote Allamagoosa, the funniest science fiction short story it’s ever been my delight to read.

In this exquisite little tale, the captain of a space cruiser is notified that there is to be a mandatory routine inventory inspection. It’s a hassle, but he must comply. After days of work, everything is accounted for except for one item, which reads simply: “offog, one”.

No-one can explain the ‘offog’, and no-one has a clue what it is. Fearful of admitting to his superiors that the item has been lost, he fabricates a little white lie that he’s awfully sorry, but the ‘offog’ had disintegrated in a hyperspace jump.

The story ends with the captain staring at an urgent telex recalling every ship in the galactic fleet, at a cost of trillions of dollars, pending a serious, official investigation….

The volume of Koch Industries’ toxic output is staggering. According to the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute, only three companies rank among the top 30 polluters of America’s air, water and climate: ExxonMobil, American Electric Power and Koch Industries. Thanks in part to its 2005 purchase of paper-mill giant Georgia-Pacific, Koch Industries dumps more pollutants into the nation’s waterways than General Electric and International Paper combined. The company ranks 13th in the nation for toxic air pollution. Koch’s climate pollution, meanwhile, outpaces oil giants including Valero, Chevron and Shell. Across its businesses, Koch generates 24 million metric tons of greenhouse gases a year.

I understand. Those Volvo PV544’s were not produced for very long, and not many made it to the USA.

To be honest, though, that round-backed body style has been used over and over since the 1940s. Maybe even earlier. The stepdown Hudsons just lowered the profile some.

All through the 30s to counterpoint the box style of earlier vehicles, esp European vehicles, although I found a 30s Buick but lost it. American auto production was halted completely in Feb 1942 and not resumed until Oct 1945.

LAUSD college prep rule puts nearly 75% of 10th graders’ diplomas at risk

Now I don’t believe anyone is deliberately holding anyone back. My point is at when ineptitude and poor planning duplicate the result of a deliberate conspiracy, you better understand the scale of the problem.

Bottom line-LAUSD desperately needs to be broken into manageable pieces.

Denver, NC used to be known as “Dry Pond” back in the 19th century. It has a long history; the first “camp meeting” was in 1794 and settled in the early 1800s not far from here. And a developer is going to take advantage of it by bldg a housing development close by. charlotteobserver.com

Another camp meeting site was established by ex-slaves in 1876 about 15 miles away, on Hwy 73.

Those camp meeting sites remain segregated.

Morning!

All I can say after reading through much of this thread is…disgusting.

Totally.

I saw Charles say this racist stuff needs to be brought to light. I understand his thinking.

Problem being, it has already been brought to light, many times. And yet here we are. I think it is getting worse, back sliding to earlier times, helped along by the ‘net. It feeds the group-think and makes it seem like it is okay because others do it too. And when people say this crap and then also say I am not a racist, there is no understanding in the individual they are doing anything wrong.

I am to the point of wondering if it shall always be. I really do not think you can stop it. I would like to be proved wrong.

It means that they stick companies with follow-up costs that would otherwise be “socialized” and not show up in their bottom line.

A Free Market cannot function unless the cost a good is not reflected in its price. Regulation is there to ensure just that.

A judge has declared a mistrial for four of six suspects accused of killing Kevin Quick after a mistake potentially compromised jurors’ safety, according to NBC29.

A detailed list of the juror pool somehow got copied and ended up passed around the Orange County Jail.

That list includes names, addresses, number of children, even partial Social Security numbers. More

That is “Java” by Al Hirt.

In the late 80s, there used to be a ridiculous show on MTV (shocking, I realize) called “Dance Party USA”. It consisted entirely of footage of Beautiful People gyrating and wiggling to the hip and happening tunes of the day.

My BFF and I used to smoke Cheech and Chong amounts of weed and watch Dance Party USA with the sound muted, and with music of our own chosing playing instead. Al Hirt’s “Java” was one of the more serendipitously hilarious choices.

But assuming for the moment that it’s not, or that the “cost” of regulation is still pretty high, I wonder what these free market fundamentalists would advocate we do with that money if the offending regulations were ended? They already think our poors have it too good with their Obamaphones, flat screen TV’s, and healthcare. Maybe they’d prefer we shove all that money into more defense spending or more tax cuts to increase revenue from which to buy more defense spending.

One of those tunes I heard over and over again on the radio as a wee lad. 1963-64. en.wikipedia.org

Although this is supposedly a new textbook, some parts are pretty dated. The incidental music also includes an instrumental of “Limbo Rock,” another ’60s chart topper. Plus, some of the English listening tracks were recorded off shortwave radio broadcasts, complete with heterodyne whistles and signal fades.

We skip over those.

Probably right, but that regulation also includes stuff like cleaner air, water, and safety regulations that reduce chances of fatal injuries on the job. You know - things that the free market might just chalk up to shit happens. Or perhaps food safety regulations that reduce food poisoning and contamination issues that can result in widespread illnesses that cost significant amounts of money.

Or car safety regulations that reduce chances you’ll die in a car wreck, or that you’ll run over a kid when you back up your car. Or that you use less fuel to heat your home or power your car because of increased efficiency requirements.

Or workplace rules that mandate equal opportunity hiring, safe work environments, etc.

Yeah, they cost a bunch. But the cost of not doing them can be so much higher.

Bundy style ranchers trying to say photography is illegal where their cattle crap in streams.

It’s a well known law and Constitution that photography is illegal whenever wingnuts say it is.

Of course, it’s not really the wingnuts wigging out that will turn my stomach, that’s pretty much a given. It’ll be the closeted racists in the political pundit class who will dig into the minutiae of Tubman’s life, pulling up long forgotten events or remarks by her that don’t look good in the modern light, and argue that she should be disqualified from being on the bill because she wasn’t perfect. The evils of Andrew Jackson will be downplayed, argued as “hindsight,” or “no different” from the other white men on our currency.

For some reason I find the phrase “ball security” totally amusing.

Ball security? I quit caring when I went to a Dodger game, went to buy a baseball, and it had “Made In China” on the box. I guess that was me that got deflated at the time.

UpChuck will have his minions digging up her criminal records.

High School Football Coaches perspective on deflate-gate:

It is a big deal because of big money. A rule was broken and punishments should be handed out. Deflated balls are easier to grip, but harder to get more velocity when thrown. I’d love for all of our opponents next year to deflate their balls before the game.(Take that last sentence how you wish)

I’m surprised that Twitter doesn’t have a policy on racism, sexism, homophobia and other hate speech. At least Youtube allows users to report hate speech/harassment or to flag problematic videos.

Which of President Obama’s policies have failed? How is depicting President Obama and Mrs. Obama as primates or as witch doctors not racist?

Some balance to all the slaveholders on your money is certainly most welcome.

Not enough updings to give for that comment…

I have suggested that we be given the chance to give someone up to 10 updings on a limited basis, say once per day, for an outstanding comment like that
