Watch Live: Trump Rally at Fake Lake in Arizona

“We’re gonna build a wall, yadda yadda”
Politics • Views: 49,132

YouTube

Donald Trump is speaking at Fountain Hills, Arizona, site of a massively wasteful fake lake with a giant fountain in the middle of a desert — absolutely perfect symbolism for his façade of a campaign. The only reason to watch this nonsense now is to see how violent the crowd will get; Trump’s actual speech is just repeating the same xenophobic and far right talking points on auto-pilot now.

Another day of Trump lighting the GOP on fire just so the crowds can see the fire trucks.

Where is the Greatness?

Patton said quite a few things about Jews. Wonder if that’s why Trump likes him.

Patton’s journal:

“…In one entry from 1945, Patton, who oversaw the D.P. operations for the United States, seethed after reading Harrison’s findings, which he saw — quite accurately — as an attack on his own command.

“Harrison and his ilk believe that the Displaced Person is a human being, which he is not, and this applies particularly to the Jews who are lower than animals,” Patton wrote. He complained of how the Jews in one camp, with “no sense of human relationships,” would defecate on the floors and live in filth like lazy “locusts,” and he told of taking his commander, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, to tour a makeshift synagogue set up to commemorate the holy day of Yom Kippur.

“We entered the synagogue, which was packed with the greatest stinking mass of humanity I have ever seen,” Patton wrote. “Of course, I have seen them since the beginning and marveled that beings alleged to be made in the form of God can look the way they do or act the way they act.”

“According to Troup, a black man, his race compelled Trump’s staffers to assign him a security buffer of sorts in the event that the crowd decided to turn on him during the event.
……
Troup managed to peacefully stand his ground during the bulk of the event until, once more black protestors had been kicked out, Trump supporters focused on him.

“The worst part was when their venom turned toward me,” Troup wrote. “There were protestors around me who got ushered out, and then people started pointing at me, motioning for the Secret Service to ‘get him out of there.’ Now mind you, I hadn’t uttered a single word the entire rally, but people still said things like ‘Well what about this one? He needs to go too!’”

I think there is a significant chance it will be someone who is Muslim. Capaldi and Moffat have both said they want to add a little diversity to the companions, and we have had Gay (Jack Harkness), Lesbian (Vastra & Jenny), and Bi (River and Clara) Companions. We have also had 2 companions of Black British origin. A Muslim companion would fit in to that band.

So after bitching about all the snake-oil salesmen & their scams destroying the party, he says this at the end of the source article cited by Mother Jones (the last two paragraphs of the entire piece):

But ever the happy warrior, Murphy tries to take a sanguine view. “If we have real, creative destruction here with Trump, and we have Armageddon or worse, out of the ruins will come new successes. New movements. And eventually, new rackets.”

“And I’ll be in on them,” Murphy says with a half-smile. “I admit it, I’m a racketeer.”

weeklystandard.com

I don’t know why he’s whining when he’s clearly part of the problem. They seem to have no ethics whatsoever—their sole goal being to get rich by fleecing the voters. They can come right out and say it to voters’ faces and people will still vote for them.

I don’t know what’s more vexing, the GOP’s pathology or its base’s stupidity.

Breaking: Kasich says Senate Republicans “ought to all sit down and meet with” Obama SCOTUS pick.

It scares me when the Right talks sense.
When they do, they can win.
McCain could have won, but he went full Teabagger and stayed that way after winning his party’s nomination.
Romney did the same, for some reason. He could have won if he hadn’t stayed so Teabag Licking Efficient

What the f*ck is this guy talking about?

It is hard to believe that so many people are such a bunch of gullible rubes.

Not really.

The better half was recently in Boston with a gaggle of coworkers. She wasn’t in this cab, but in one of the other ones, the group started ragging on Trump and the cabbie just about flipped out on them.

One of her supervisors had to claim to be conservative in order to calm the guy down. They were on their way to the airport, and apparently this guy was irate enough that there was no telling what was going to happen.

I got to thinking about the story after I heard it. This guy probably isn’t making a lot of money, particularly thanks to Uber and Lyft, and he lives in a town that isn’t known for its racial harmony.

Yet there’s this billionaire on TV running for President: a man who has never wanted for anything in his life; a man who would not only not piss on the cabbie if he were on fire, he’d charge $200 a second for a fire extinguisher; vowing that if he’s elected POTUS, he essentially will make all of the cabbie’s “enemies” pay.

Dearly.

No, it’s not surprising at all that people are buying this fucking nonsense. I love my country, but far too many of my fellow countrypeople value scapegoating, bigotry, and revenge far more than they value critical thought and education.

re: #59 CuriousLurker

The cultural sub-components to the current state of US “conservatism”—the quotes being indicative of the dubiousness of that label—involve a lot of scamming.

The precise kind of Christianity that is a bloc in GOP politics? The evangelists and the megachurches that pull money through “love offerings” and MLM tactics; the culture warriors that counterfeit and deceive—the Pink Swastika, Mike Warnke, Walid Shoebat, reparation therapy—in ways that pair earning with selling fear.

How about businesses? The kind of businesses that pettifog science by spamming disinformation through PACs. Financial sector businesses that like churning, and creating bubbles, and don’t want fiduciary responsibilities. Businesses that like de facto monopolies. And…of course…straight-up MLM scams.

Hell, the election infrastructure of the party itself is riddled with flim-flamming. Carson’s run ate $40 million, all of which routed to a small number of businesses run by his campaign staff. This guy being quoted burned $100 million. Sarah Palin is an especially visible example of something a lot of people are doing: constantly soliciting money via PACs. It’s a career path now.

And conservative media makes money by facilitating all the above, and then makes extra money by advertising shady-ass shit (BUY GOLD), and then makes even more money by creating in-house panic-mongers who become brands that sell further dubious horseshit.

As long as Trump keeps saying that he’s going to build a wall, and deport all the undocumented immigrants, and make crass comments about them, he could spend every rally talking about his most recent bowel movement, and he’d still have as much support as he does now.
