Video: Trump Says, “That Could Be a Mexican Plane Up There, They’re Getting Ready to Attack”

Right wing humor?
Politics • Views: 53,984

At his rally today, Donald Trump started his usual spiel about Mexico taking advantage of the United States, then interrupted himself to point at a plane flying overhead and say, “That could be a Mexican plane up there — they’re gettin’ ready to attack.”

Was this a joke? Maybe. Probably, even. But if it was, he didn’t smile or laugh, and neither did most of the audience. It’s a measure of how wildly irrational this campaign is that it’s impossible to know for sure; Trump has said much crazier stuff in total seriousness.

Trump: “Mexico, and I respect Mexico, I respect their leaders, what they’ve done to us is incredible. Their leaders are so much smarter, so much sharper. And it’s incredible,” Trump said.

Then, a plane could be heard flying overhead.

Trump: “In fact, that could be a Mexican plane up there — they’re getting ready to attack.”

File this under: “Clueless and Tone-Deaf”

A common mistake.

Its also doubtful that ISIS would be able to gets its jets into US airspace and that’s even assuming they had any. The only thing that would make him saying it could be ISIS less ridiculous is that people in ISIS actually do overwhelmingly hate the US and would love to attack on American soil if they could.

A few days ago, some Berniebro was arguing on FB that because Bernie had ‘flipped’ two districts - one in LA (out of 18) and one in SF (Alameda County, actually) that he’d won California’s two largest cities, and so, in effect, won California!!!!!!

I thought how amazing it is, the lengths to which people will go to preserve their delusions.

Smiling and openly laughing. It’s an absolutely shit joke that is indicative of right wing “humor” and the way it seeks to confirm preconceived biases and legitimize bigotries, but many in the crowd clearly did take it as a joke.

Apparently people aren’t really good at predicting outcomes over the long term. I think, historically, countries that have started wars have tended to win their immediate goal. The long term effects may be very different, what with other countries becoming involved.

First fatality of Tesla Autopilot==>

50
Backwoods_Sleuth  Jun 30, 2016 • 2:20:14pm

We learned yesterday evening that NHTSA is opening a preliminary evaluation into the performance of Autopilot during a recent fatal crash that occurred in a Model S. This is the first known fatality in just over 130 million miles where Autopilot was activated. Among all vehicles in the US, there is a fatality every 94 million miles. Worldwide, there is a fatality approximately every 60 million miles. It is important to emphasize that the NHTSA action is simply a preliminary evaluation to determine whether the system worked according to expectations.

Following our standard practice, Tesla informed NHTSA about the incident immediately after it occurred. What we know is that the vehicle was on a divided highway with Autopilot engaged when a tractor trailer drove across the highway perpendicular to the Model S. Neither Autopilot nor the driver noticed the white side of the tractor trailer against a brightly lit sky, so the brake was not applied. The high ride height of the trailer combined with its positioning across the road and the extremely rare circumstances of the impact caused the Model S to pass under the trailer, with the bottom of the trailer impacting the windshield of the Model S. Had the Model S impacted the front or rear of the trailer, even at high speed, its advanced crash safety system would likely have prevented serious injury as it has in numerous other similar incidents.

On-topic from driftglass driftglass.blogspot.com

Longtime readers know that “The Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair” is my shorthand for inbred Conservative meatsticks who have wallowed in wingnut Hate Radio racist dung and Fox News Liberal Conspiracy claptrap for so long that is has become the quotidian argot of their wretched lives. It is their tavern-talk — their worst, paranoid delusions, externalized, validated, tarted up as The Unvarnished Truth and then regurgitated back to them by ghouls and treason-mongers like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly… which are, in turn, passed around again like so many fish stories, getting bigger and wilder and truthier with each iteration. It is the shit they eagerly rub in their hair — the shit which, year after year, they sculpt into ever more elaborate pompadours because everyone else in their dingy, lightless corner of Universe is doing it and they lost their sense of smell 40 years ago.

They preen over each other. They are happy in each other’s company. They praise each other on the little, individual touches with which they have customized their Shitheap Toupees — an extra layer of Benghaaaazi, perhaps, appliqued over something something the New Black Panther Party because ACORN!.

And all is right with the world…right up until they leave the cocoon of their Wingnut Pig Sty and step into the normal world, where they are Shocked!Shocked! that ordinary people flee from them in horror.

I have never seen a better description of the right wing noise machine and its operation.

Oh look. Berniebros are suing DWS and the Democratic party in Florida.

Amid allegations that Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz “rigged” the Democratic presidential primary in favor of Hillary Clinton, 120 people, including 104 Bernie Sanders donors, sued both Wasserman Schultz and the DNC in the Southern District Court of Florida yesterday for fraud, negligence, misrepresentation, and other claims. They alleged she misled the DNC and Sanders donors into thinking she was “impartial.”

Go the fuck away.

I can’t wait for Trump’s bigot brigade to push back and claim that’s not what he meant or that this was all taken out of context, or excuse his statements.

No. Just no.

This is all the evidence you need that Trump is not right in the head and he’s showing a complete and utter lack of character and judgment. You don’t just say these things without having deep issues that show a deeply warped belief system that doesn’t reflect the world around them.

The bigger problem though is whether Trump is mirroring his supporters or they’re mirroring him. Neither is a good thing - and the worst case scenario appears upon us: we’re in a feedback loop of derp where Trump has opened the floodgates to the bigot brigade and will feed off his supporters going even further past the pale.

It has to stop - and it’s up to the voters in November to stop the GOP and stop Trump.

Today’s presser is all the proof that there’s no way in hell that he can be allowed near the nuclear football, let alone the levers of power that come with the Office of the President.

You know the “this looks bad” scenario.

Lynch is getting heat for allowing it. In a way, I have to think it was really stupid to do it. They both (Bill and Loretta) should know in the current political environment you don’t want to give the RWNJs and their media anything to bash you with.

Even if nothing at all happened it will be gospel to the ‘nuts that there was some under the table agreements to not indict Hillary for the email scandal.

Ahhhh yes. Conservative humor, how I miss that. You libs just don’t get it. It was so funny neither the audience nor Trump were laughing. Ha ha get it? What a joke.

As already pointed out above, the audience in the video was smiling and/or laughing.

RNC Rules Fight Begins With Plan to Lock In Donald Trump

The fight over rules that could upend the Republican National Convention officially began in earnest Thursday, as delegates began circulating the first proposed rule for this year’s convention in Cleveland.

A draft rule, obtained by MSNBC, would effectively lock-in Donald Trump as the GOP nominee and kill the “Stop Trump” movement once and for all.

Anti-Trump forces have talked up rules that could let delegates vote against Trump, regardless of the primary results. But the new rule would stop any and all of those efforts with a silver bullet — freezing the 2012 rules so that no alternatives go into effect this year.

The proposal states “any amendments” to the party rules will not “take effect” until after this year’s convention ends.

If the proposal passes, it guarantees that if amendments designed to stop Trump, such as a “conscience clause” that would function as a delegate escape hatch, are also passed, those would only go into effect at “the 2020 National Convention.”

Cabinet member has a chance to meet with a former President from her own party while both are in the same airport.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!! CONSPIRACY!!!! OR ‘BAD OPTICS!!!!!’

At some point, this horseshit has to stop. To respond to this is to inflate the importance of the investigation into the emails. I mean, for shit’s sake, does this mean that Hillary shouldn’t meet with Obama? I mean after all, he’s Lynch’s boss!!!!

I don’t like it either, so please don’t get that idea I don’t think it is bullshit.

But I am also aware of the current political climate. And I want to see Hillary get elected. Elected in this climate.

Just trying to be realistic. It is already being spun. Hillary doesn’t need it, and I would not be surprised if she isn’t pissed off that it happened. You don’t give them ammo when they are plenty ready to shoot you with their gun. My opinion. Obviously you don’t share it.

Taking a good thing from Republicans, our response should be “So? People in an airport can’t talk?”

Let the NY Times article explain exactly what I am talking about…

Bipartisan Disapproval Follows Bill Clinton’s Meeting With Loretta Lynch

A strange thing is uniting Democrats and Republicans in Washington: the widespread disapproval of a meeting between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac in Arizona.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Bill Clinton Met Amid Email Investigation
Lynch told reporters that the impromptu conversation on her government aircraft in Phoenix on Monday centered on social issues, from talk of grandchildren and Clinton’s golf game to their recent travels. Nothing came up, the attorney general said, about any ongoing Justice Department investigations.

But the chat took place in the midst of an FBI investigation into the security of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, which she used to conduct government business as secretary of state. And that’s creating a major appearance problem for the presumptive Democratic nominee for the White House and the top federal prosecutor in the country.

Democratic political strategist David Axelrod tweeted:

David Axelrod ✔ @davidaxelrod
I take @LorettaLynch & @billclinton at their word that their convo in Phoenix didn’t touch on probe. But foolish to create such optics.

On CNN, Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., praised the attorney general for her law enforcement bona fides but offered this advice: “I think she should have said, ‘Look, I recognize you have a long record of leadership on fighting crime, but this is not the time for us to have that conversation. After the election is over, I welcome your advice and input.’”

Clinton’s political opponent in the race for the White House was less measured. Republican Donald Trump told radio talk show host Mike Gallagher the meeting was “terrible.”

“I think it’s the biggest story, one of the big stories of this week, of this month, of this year,” Trump declared. “I’ve been talking about the rigged system, how it’s rigged and, you know, this is terrible … You see a thing like this and even in terms of judgment, how bad of judgment is it for him or for her to do this? I mean, who would do this?”

The No. 2 Republican in the U.S. Senate, John Cornyn, had been calling for a special prosecutor to investigate the Clinton email setup since last September. In congressional hearings since then, Cornyn has pushed the attorney general about the independence of the inquiry and whether the White House was receiving updates on the status of the case.

Cornyn said the disclosure of the meeting between Bill Clinton and Lynch only heightened his concerns. “‘This incident does nothing to instill confidence in the American people that her department can fully and fairly conduct this investigation, and that’s why a special counsel is needed now more than ever,” Cornyn said in a statement.

Here is the Ayurvedic wisdom of the millennia:

djjs.org

Let’s have a detailed overview of benefits of each component of Panchgavya for contemporary diseases:

Cow’s Dung: Cow dung is anti-septic. It has anti-bacterial and fungicidal action. Thus a filtrate of the suspension made by thoroughly mixing cow dung and water forms one of the main ingredients of skin ointments, which are useful in serious skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema and gangrene. Her dung is also an effective disinfectant for floors and walls that even protects from radioactive rays. Not just that, 1 Kg of Indian Cow’s Dung mixed with Biomass produces 20-25 Kg of Bio Fertilizer. And 1 Indian Cow’s dung on an average can produce enough electricity to light two 100-watt light bulbs for 24 hours a day.
Cow’s Urine: Cow’s urine has been acclaimed by Ayurveda as a therapeutic. But Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sasnthan (DJJS) gives it a divine designation as Gayatri Rasayan, for its medicinal properties as well as metaphysical benefits. Today, it is globally acknowledged that cow’s urine can cure more than 3000 diseases. Cancer, diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, psoriasis, eczema, ringworm, itching, heart attack, blockage in arteries, fits, piles, prostrate, arthritis, migraine, thyroid, ulcer, acidity, constipation, eosinophilia, cough, phlegm, varicose veins, gynaecological problems and ear and nose problems to name a few. It is also practically observed that spraying drops of cow urine over floor keeps evil spirits away.

A Mexican air attack is about as likely as a invasion by fourth dimensional aliens. The Mexican Air Force only has 10 fighters, though they have a substantial fleet of helicopters and transports. The fighters are Northrop F5Es, purchased new in 1982. They serve with Escuadron Pelea 201. This is the same squadron that flew P-47 Thunderbolts when they served alongside US forces in the Philippines during the last year of World War II

Yes of course weak kneed Dems have to agree with Repubs that this innocent meeting is something sinister. Sigh.

By the way, couldn’t President Clinton just have called Secretary Lynn on the phone if he wanted to interfere with DOJ’s investigation into his wife’s email “scandal”? Why would he meet with her in public to do that?

Do you really want to call David Axelrod week kneed? He was only an architect to the Obama campaigns.

And I’ll ask again. How do you think Hillary is seeing it? Do you think she is happy to read stuff like the NY Times article? She is being very careful herself this election. I bet she is preparing the dog house right now.
