Donald Trump’s “Pre-Debate” Press Conference: Women Who Claim They Were Assaulted by Bill Clinton

Politics • Views: 38,934

In case you were wondering how Trump was going to handle his newly-revealed admission of sexual assault at tonight’s debate, here he is a little while ago, doing a press conference with several women who claim they were assaulted by Bill Clinton, and Kathy Shelton, subject of this long-debunked fake story. (That’s Shelton in the blue dress.)

Yes, it looks like Trump is going to step right into the trap again.

I feel terrible that Shelton was sexually assaulted but Clinton was doing her job. In our society, everyone is entitled a defense. The GOP’s also been attacking Kaine for having done similar work for poorer defendants.

Trump thinks that people don’t remember Whitewater, the whole impeachment, and the fact that these claims didn’t hold up to scrutiny by Ken Starr and the GOP efforts the last time.

Had they been able to substantiate it the last time, impeachment would have gone in a different direction.

But the thing is, that was Bill Clinton - who isn’t running for the President now. Trump’s facing Hillary Clinton, who was in the Melania role back in the impeachment days.

Trump’s statements are evidence that he’s a sexual predator. That’s a whole world of difference from what Clinton did.

Can’t believe we’re going to parse Whitewater all over again, but Trump thinks the 1990s are where he stands to make his last stand.

So Donald’s defense against being caught on tape boasting about how he can get away with sexual assault because he’s rich is to drag in human shields to argue that Hillary defends rapists.

Hillary was appointed by the judge because the defendant wanted to be represented by a female lawyer. She tried to get out of it, but her request was denied.

What is truly fascinating about this whole thing is that every one of these accusations was investigated in excruciating detail about 20 years ago in the lead-up and aftermath of Clinton’s impeachment hearings. Ken Starr specifically excluded the loudest of these, Juanita Broderick because of the fact that she changed her story multiple times and if had not been granted blanket immunity at the time was looking at a perjury charge.

Trump signaled he was going to go there the moment he started boasting about how he hadn’t gone there in the first debate and so was going “easy” on Hillary. He’s been preparing this self-immolation act for over a week now. And Donald is such a dimwit, he’d probably say something like, “That’s not true, I only raped ten of them.”

He excluded her testimony because it was not relevant to his quest for Bill’s alleged obstruction of justice.
She changed her testimony once, because she wanted to be left alone, fully understandable if she was indeed a rape victim (or believed herself to be one).

To date her testimony has not been discredited (or confirmed). It is possible she was indeed raped by Bill Clinton. We’ll probably never know.

The thing is, that if the GOP gets taken out in both Congress and the Senate, they are likely to find themselves in another prolonged period of exile as things actually start getting done.

Any odds on Donald getting taken out by the Secret Service as he lunges across the stage at Hillary?

I was thinking that too. It’s very much a possibility with such an unhinged man like Trump. By now, he must have figured out that he has zero chance of winning next month. It’s got to be burning him up since cannot take rejection or criticism.

Undoing the voter suppression measures of the last few years will bring millions of additional potential voters onto the rolls. It shouldn’t be hard to remind them who worked to provide them suffrage. Undoing the abortion restrictions and “religious freedom” measures passed by various states will probably drive the Religious Wrong, er, Right back into their churches as it becomes clear that politics won’t get them their Dominion.

Murkowski’s easily winning now with less than 50% of the vote because of the same kind of divided opposition. (The same poll shows Hillary down by 3. In Alaska.)
