Now Trump Is Threatening to Force Google to Prioritize Right Wing Media

Politics • Views: 35,519

It just never stops with the self-obsessed con man occupying the Oval Office. Now he’s promoting a completely false (of course, when is it not?) conspiracy theory that Google is somehow suppressing his sycophantic right wing media in search results. It’s so stupid and dishonest it makes my brain hurt.

And because he’s the president, God help us, Google actually felt compelled to respond.

Of course, there’s an insidious reason why the Con Man in Chief is pushing this idiotic fake outrage, as Greg Sargent describes:

But while this might seem like typical Trumpian buffoonery, at its core is some deadly serious business. These attacks on the media — which are now spreading to extensive conspiracy-mongering about social media’s role in spreading information — form one part of an interlocking, two-piece Trumpian strategy (whether by instinct or design is unclear) that serves to underscore the urgency of this fall’s elections.

Trump is unleashing endless lies and attacks directed at the mechanisms of accountability that actually are functioning right now — the media, law enforcement and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation — to persuade his supporters not only that they shouldn’t believe anything they hear from these sources, but also to energize them and get them to vote, to protect him from those institutions’ alleged conspiracy against him.

At the same time, that campaign of lies is designed to get Republican voters out for the purpose of keeping in place the mechanism of accountability that is not functioning right now — the GOP-led Congress — preventing a Democratic takeover of the House, which would impose genuine accountability.

Ex-Balch Springs police officer Roy Oliver guilty of murdering teenager Jordan Edwards

DALLAS

A Dallas County jury has found ex-Balch Springs police officer Roy Oliver guilty of murder in the death of 15-year-old Jordan Edwards, an African-American youth who was unarmed when Oliver shot him in April 2017.

The jury deliberated for about 12 hours over a period of two days before reaching its verdict. The courtroom erupted in cries and cheers from Edwards’ family afterward as they clapped and hugged each other.

As the jury rendered its decision, a photo of Edwards rested underneath Judge Brandon Birmingham’s bench — where it was left during the duration of the weeklong trial.

Oliver shot into the back of a 2004 black Impala where Edwards was a passenger on April 29 last year. The then-officer claimed the car was about to run over his partner, Officer Tyler Gross, but several witnesses and video taken from the officer’s body camera show the car was moving away from Gross.

Was checking my ATT/Yahoo and saw this. I figured this would be on YouTube so I went and found it.

I also looked at the first comment and the replies to it…and that was enough to know it would be about what was expected. Of course that also meant that I would have to read about Blacks using their heads and not falling for Democrats because they started the KKK.

Like yesterday seeing a British Grand Prix driver saying ‘fake news” at a Belgian race and saying we are going to see Trumpisms for a long time, this brought that all up to me again today.

Here are two ESPN talking heads talking about Tiger Woods saying we need to respect the office of the President…and not liking it so much.

They sort of touch on that in their discussion. And they also get to the point that Tiger, golf and Trump go together and Tiger is a friend of Trump because of that sporting connection.

Tiger is dancing and Steven A goes to that in a way that will make a lot of people uncomfortable…Tiger’s mixed ethnicity and what that means to people of those ethnic backgrounds and how it can be used as a plus and a minus.

What makes that sign annoying was that prior to the runoff, the pastor of the church (Danny Stockstill) was running for Congress, but he didn’t make it to the runoff.

For what it’s worth, this particular church has had declining attendance. So what it did to reverse the trend was (a) drop Baptist from its name (b) change up its worship to be more “modern” (c) change Sunday School to 13 week sessions and (d) drop congregational polity for what they describe as “seven-person executive team makes most decisions, and that allows the congregation to relax more, let go of the ownership more and enjoy the church more, he said.”

That last item actually means there was an elder coup in the church. It’s entirely likely that it has become a Calvinista Baptist church. I’d be able to tell if I could look at their beliefs, but their website has been completely worked over and there’s no information.

What scares me is it takes real work to believe The Big Don and yet so many people do. You really need many stages of denial and delusions to get there. It is some powerful willful ignorance at work.

its one thing to buy into and believe the wild stuff he says

its still another to understand what he’s trying to say - his sentences are often incoherent, illogical, and meaningless

And greed. Surely greed and hate are big drivers of all the Trump love.

And ignorance. People who hate that fancy politicians with there “vocabulary” and “knowledge” talk down to them all the time are the PERFECT marks for Trump’s con.

Combined with the general disdain for politics (and bigotry and greed) all fueled by pervasive propaganda, and it’s the perfect storm of derp. It’s like some sort of twisted political Stockholm syndrome, and it’s sad as fuck.

That is what I mean by the work it takes. They can take his comments as sort of Trump code and make them into what they want to hear which is exactly what he wants them to hear.

It is Trump speaking in political “tongues.”

It is too easy to get caught up in the logic and formality of language. If you have your head on straight it doesn’t make sense. If you are a Trumper it is clear as a bell.

Don’t get tied into what should be. We lost that back in November of ‘16.

We shouldn’t be here.

We have to deal with the what it is, even if it doesn’t make a damn lick of sense.

Why? If we we win, and we over turn ‘everything’, why would we bother being violent?
