Fox News Defends Laura Ingraham for Promoting Racists and Outright Nazis

Politics • Views: 32,017

It was only a few months ago that Fox News temporarily suspended Laura Ingraham for a vicious attack on the Parkland shooting survivors. (They called it a “vacation.”)

But now we see what a sham that suspension was, because this time Fox is going to bat for Ingraham even though she’s hyping outright white supremacists and hate-mongers like Paul Nehlen, Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer and Alex Jones. And others just as bad but arguably less infamous.

Ingraham says these people are simply concerned about “borders and national sovereignty,” and they’re being persecuted just because they’re conservatives.

Fox describes Ingraham as “a fierce protector of freedom of speech.”

Right. For Nazis.

Here’s their statement:

“It is obscene to suggest that Laura Ingraham was defending Paul Nehlen’s despicable actions especially when some of the names on the graphic were pulled from an Associated Press report on best known political extremists banned from Facebook. Anyone who watches Laura’s show knows that she is a fierce protector of freedom of speech and the intent of the segment was to highlight the growing trend of unilateral censorship in America.”

Unilateral censorship… that’s a new phrase, and a bit redundant, isn’t it?

She’s a racist on a racist network owned for and for the benefit of racists. Conservatives love to cry about how liberals call them racist but they do a great job whenever they open their yaps.

True Fact: Throughout our histories, Alabama and Florida have agreed that the Florida panhandle should be part of Alabama. The commission to implement that has gone into a coma, stalled over who should pay who how much for the transaction.

Alabama signed a tentative agreement to purchase West Florida for $1,000,000 - this is what happened next

For all the talk about safe spaces and how liberals are afraid of conservatives debating them, Hannity had Alan Colmes. No disrespect to Colmes who seems like he was a pleasant enough person but he wasn’t combative or strong in how he defended liberal ideology but then again he didn’t identify as a liberal, he identified as a centrist and he still was too tough for Snowflake Hannity.

Platforms can set rules and standards for what is acceptable to post on them.

What they cannot do is ban someone outright for their race, gender or religion

But that nuance is totally lost in this shouting and posturing match

Could it be? They are trying to NATIONALIZE social media?

Reminds me of a story about Winston Churchill. Churchill famously lost an election at the end of the war and was replaced by Clement Atlee of the Labour Party. The latter promptly instituted a sweeping program to nationalize major industries, such as coal, railroads, etc. A few months into this process, Churchill went into the parliamentary restroom to relieve himself and saw Atlee already occupied at one end of the long trough-type urinal. Churchill took up station at the opposite end.
Atlee said, “What’s wrong, Winston? Feeling unsociable today?”
Churchill responded, “No, Clem, it’s just that every time you see something big, you try to nationalize it.”

Colmes (RIP) had a really good midday show on WABC in NYC in the late 80s - early 90s, a pretty fierce liberal voice.

By the time he did that show with Lumpy, he was reduced to acting like the archtypical milquetoast liberal. I watched that show maybe twice and I was so disappointed in Colmes. I guess the money was too good to pass up.

He was on ABC in the time before Limbaugh got syndicated all over the place and took his time slot.

The big conservative on ABC at the time was a New Yorker named Bob Grant. Came off like a big tough guy conservative on the radio (his schtick was putting a liberal on and letting him talk for a minute, then angrily yelling ‘Get off my phone!!’ and cutting them off), but I saw him in a pizzeria on Houston Street one night and went up to him and tapped him on the shoulder and said ‘Excuse me, Mr. Grant?’

He whipped around with absolute fear in his eyes. The tough guy schtick was an act. I’ll never forget that moment.

5 cats.

It’s funny to see some of the behavioral changes already, one week in.

New house is a split level; the old house was two story (plus basement) townhouse, where the floors were more clearly demarcated. So for one, there isn’t the segregation (upstairs cats, downstairs cats) as before.

Laura Ingraham making Paul Nehlen relevant again reminded me of his association with that weirdo Josh Smith and sent me down a very bizarre rabbit hole. First I learned that their association did not end well:

Nehlen, meanwhile, doubled down on being a white supremacist, appearing in January as a guest on the podcast of former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke. He talked with Duke about how “Jews control the media” and discussed turning Trump’s proposed border wall on the Mexican border into a fortress for gunning down immigrants. “Armed machine gun turrets every 300 yards,” he told Duke of his vision for the wall. “And you can automate those. Anyone who approaches that barrier will be treated as an enemy combatant. Man, woman or child.”

That same month, Nehlen was suspended from Twitter for posting neo-Nazi propaganda showing predominantly journalists marked with the Star of David. The following month, Nehlen was kicked off Twitter — no easy feat — after posting a racist meme about Meghan Markle.

Last month — despite being permanently banned from Twitter — Nehlen reappeared on the site under a different handle to apologize to his fans for running a bad campaign. He blamed his failure, however, on hiring a Jewish campaign spokesman. (The spokesman, Josh Smith, admitted to HuffPost to growing up Jewish, despite being an anti-Semite himself.)

“Let’s start by admitting that I was wrong to have ever trusted a ***,” Nehlen tweeted, the asterisks undoubtedly obscuring the word “Jew.”

“They are never to be trusted. Ever.”

Then I went back further and learned that Smith was even more fucked up than I ever imagined and has a long documented history of psychological problems, nuisance lawsuits, a domestic restraining order, an association with Chuck C Johnson in which he tried to out Brock Turner’s rape victim, and was denied a gun permit due to an involuntary commitment that he failed to mention on his ATF form 4473.

I think the easiest way would be to do it by municipality of the specific place of business. So for a large retail chain or fast-food chain, it might get a little complex to maintain the data tables of all the different towns/cities their individual units are in, if they are intending to minimize the ongoing labor cost.

Guatemala. Border Patrol in Guatemala. Where jungle and volcanoes alternate, where the roads are mostly just wider than a city bus outside of the cities. Where it’s hot and humid in the lowlands and chilly in the highlands (which are high enough that you risk altitude sickness). Where malaria, hep a, typhoid, yellow fever and even rabies are things to worry about. Where the national language is Spanish, but 60% of people speak varieties of Mayan, not Spanish.

Have fun, border patrol. It couldn’t happen to more deserving people.

Howzabout we recognize that a fair and appropriate minimum wage in NYC or SF is way the fuck more than a national standard that would be applied in places where the cost of living is less than half as much….

The minimum wage should be higher in New York thank $15. That would be a good minimum in most other areas.

Here in the DFW area, $15, at 40 hours per week, would mean rent would be about 60% of take home pay.

This is the combo:

the altitude (which impacts the production of serotonin in older males) to the prevalence of guns.

Not much is known about exactly what the serotonin means, but too much is known about what the guns mean.
