Quick random thought, and I’ll stop hogging the thread: anyone else prefer live recordings over the original studio tracks? In my case, it’s probably from being exposed to Live at Leeds at an early age, but it always seems there’s an energy and immediacy you can’t quite get in the studio.
There’s a few songs where that feeling doesn’t track (Good Vibrations and Springsteen’s Atlantic City come to mind), but overall I really like the live stuff better.
