A whole lot of “beliefs,” but not a single shred of evidence. And Trump’s lawyers seem to have decided that they’re giving up on “Sharpiegate.”

re: #5 Yeah Sure WhatEVs

So basically, the issue is that there may have been some over or under votes? But no evidence as to whether these were with respect to the presidential election or a down ballot race (which typically have fewer votes)? The best that can be inferred is that these patriots didn’t care enough to vote in every contest on their ballot… that’s not illegal or unlawful.

Oh look, a college sports conference that’s not reliant on the money their sports generate is being responsible:

The Ivy League is canceling winter sports for the 2020-21 season, sources told ESPN.

The conference is also postponing spring sports until at least the end of February and won’t conduct competition for fall sports during the spring semester, sources said.

In July, the Ivy League became the first Division I conference to say it would not hold sports in the fall because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sucks for the athletes, especially since 99.9% aren’t going to be professional athletes. Hopefully the NCAA gives everyone an extra year of eligibility from the Ivy League.

The legal theory at this point seems to be if they can convince a court that some votes were “fraudulent,” then all votes must be so and thus the courts need to throw them out.

So far, no court seems willing to bite.

I did an undervote!!! There was an uncontested judicial election where all the judicial rating agencies were against the single candidate! So I didn’t vote. My real guess is not that she was unqualified but she never bothered with the paperwork to be evaluated because she figured it wasn’t worth the effort. The agencies automatically rate a candidate as unqualified if they don’t file the evaluation forms.

After much celebrating, I’m finding this very depressing. I still have fatigue from Covid (infected in March). The long term effects for many of us are unknown.

150,000 new cases in the US TODAY (and counting)
1,100 deaths.
My son (diabetes) is back on lock down.

A friend of mine is a cancer survivor. He is on a list to get the vaccine early. His appointment is January 21, 2021. They will move it up if they can, but that’s still a long wait. At least 95% of the people in NYC are wearing masks.

Doing my best to keep my spirits up.

I’ve had a few undervotes over the years where I didn’t know anything about the candidates or the office - usually school districts or community college districts. I always feel like it’s better to not vote if you don’t have enough info than to check a box just because.

I’m gonna guess that if the Repub leadership is beginning to pull away from Donny, it’s probably because the party’s megadonors have demanded such. The party desperately needs funds to win the Georgia run-offs, but instead that money is being diverted to what is clearly becoming a very public spat between the Trumps and reality. And the donors are unwilling to fund both, so they’re demanding the party make a choice: Cut the tantrum-throwing toddler loose or risk their Senate majority.

His psychology is of interest only because he has managed to delude tens of millions of Americans. That is the real issue — if his campaign had died the day he mocked McCain — which I believed then would happen — , no one would care about his thought process. Its their thought process must be studied so that in the future people can be protected from this form of brainwashing.

I swear that judges need to start sanctioning the clowns filing these suits, and refer them to the state bar associations for good measure. This is textbook examples of frivolous lawsuits, clogging the courts with intent to delay and do harm to the justice system, and with the express purpose of wasting everyone’s time while appearing to be “fighting for the rights of GOPers”.

re: #86 makeitstop

We’re at the ‘pure theater’ part of the program. Just going through the motions to keep the rubes hooked and jumped up.

It’ll only work for a couple more days, so they gotta grift while the grifting’s good.

How can anyone be as ignorant as the rubes that continue to send him money or felate him on various websites. It boggles the mind.

“There’s none so blind as those who will not see”

I’d wager that the vast majority of these people are so deep in the sunk cost fallacy/refusal to deal with cognitive dissonance that they’d rather keep believing in Donald Trump to admit that they put their faith in someone so thoroughly unworthy of it who played them all for fools.

Most people mainly believe what they want to believe. But there have to be common sense limits on that kind of thing.

Pernicious religious cults like the People’s Temple, Heaven’s Gate and Trumpism are what happens when all common sense is cast aside and the believers go all-in on believing what they want to believe.

If people were a product, this tendency would be an obvious defect in the programming.

re: #72 NO SMOCKING GUN!

I mentioned a few days ago a Dominionist I know on FB who said Trump was absolutely going to win because “prophets” said it was God’s will. Just yesterday he posted Biden would not win because “the saints are interceding.” Today, he has started to pivot. It seems that its up to us to effectuate God’s will through prayer and obedience. When a prophecy fails, its because we were not faithful enough!

He could use that “Trump had to repent and he didn’t” dodge that profitess Jennifer LeClaire has been using. She still thinks Trump is going to win, but she made a lot of people angry with her “Nebuchadnezzar” prophecy (i.e., if Trump didn’t repent, God would lower him like God did to Nebuchadnezzar).

Our long national nightmare is soon at an end. Of course, this can also mean the deep breath before the plunge thanks to Trump sabotaging the incoming administration in every way conceivable.

He’s got himself surrounded with sycophantic suckups who don’t care about the rule of law or an orderly transition, so they’ll gum up the works even though Trump was routed at the polls.

trump won’t shut up
the media will continue to amplify him
team biden will be unearthing stuff everywhere for a long long time
