Governor Walz (D-MN) slammed home a new executive order last night, basically canceling Thanksgiving (all at-home gatherings are restricted to the immediate household only) and closing all indoor spaces except for retail shops and churches, as well as any outdoor venue that requires personnel. So, e.g., a go-karting business would be closed down, but the parks all stay open.

Which means Wisconsin will suddenly get lots more super spreader events coming over from MN and MI since the scum in Madison won’t let the Governor do his job.

Yep - thus continuing, and exacerbating, a problem where no matter how our governor pleads with us, the idjits will just keep hopping the border and bringing COVID home with them.

Hey! Are there any podcastians out there?

Here us an interesting podcast. It is Dr. Peter Attia’s podcast, focused on vaccines, and dives into the current CV-19 vaccine status.

Paul Offit is a pediatrician specializing in infectious diseases and an expert in virology and vaccine development. He currently serves on the FDA committee overseeing and evaluating COVID-19 vaccines. In this episode, Paul discusses the strategies and major companies pursuing a vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. He gets into the nuances of the vaccine approval process and its implications for COVID-19 vaccine outlook.

His tactic is to wear down the opposition with pointless filings and prolonged litigation that they eventually agree to “settle” just to make the whole thing come to an end.

Problem is that the electoral system doesn’t work that way.

If nothing substantive happens, Joseph R. Biden is the next President of the United States. Trump and Co. seem not to realize that they aren’t just going to “give up” and make him President when they’ve already got one.

From Cheryl Rofer
balloon-juice.com

With a few exceptions, like those two in Michigan, election officials and secretaries of state are doing their jobs with integrity.

Ignoring today’s clown show (what kind of hair dye dissolves in sweat? Shoe polish?), the courts are doing their job. The Trumpies are something like 1 - 30, and the one was solely on procedure.

With every unit that confirms the election results, the Trumpies have one fewer avenue to pursue. Events are closing in on them. Republican legislators in several of the swing states have stated they have no intention to go against the will of the voters.

Trump is following one of his customary gambits: sue and sue and sue until the other party runs out of money. His presidency has, in effect, been the infliction of an abuser on the country, and we are reacting to that. We are extremely sensitive to his actions, and we would just like them to stop. This is the end of the abuse, and Trump is reacting as abusers do. He can’t sue the American public, but he will try to keep the punishment going.

The legal fight is going against Trump.

The bureaucracy (with the sad exception of Emily Murphy) is standing on the side of law and order.

An article in Politico this morning said that Biden’s organization will ramp up public opinion for starting the transition. And, sure enough, the Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Manufacturers, good Republican organizations, called today for the certification of the transition. I suspect we will see more calls with every day that passes. The purpose is to pressure Republican members of Congress to pressure Trump.

In case it hasn’t been mentioned, I read on dKos that the Georgia SoS’s office has completed their recount, and will be certifying the results tomorrow, which will show that the Biden/Harris ticket won the state by 12,284 votes (which, one presumes, is going to be the official “final” number). Still way too close for comfort, but still a win.

I’m sure the Trumpsters will try to fight it, but it’s likely to be harder after a formal recount.

Trump could still request a recount; apparently, this was a hand-counted “audit” of the voting machines. The thing of it is, the recount is apparently just a rerun of the ballots through the machine, and after two counts - one by machine, one by hand - I don’t see what he stands to gain by it.

The reality is that Rudy never should have been in a courtroom because he hasn’t done any court practice since 1992 and it shows. That he didn’t know standards of review is far more egregious than his inability to comprehend what opacity means.

The reality is that Trump wanted Rudy there because Rudy tells Trump what he wants to hear, and Rudy put on a performance and told the court what Trump wanted to hear.

The papers submitted in connection with this are entirely unrelated to the false narrative Rudy’s spewed, and it goes to their inability to convince a court anywhere that there was any wrongdoing, let alone massive fraud.

Several months ago I got into FB discussion with someone who claimed to be a Communist and was using the “Biden is as bad as Trump” argument for not supporting Biden. My reference to Trotsky and his 1933 writings that the failure of German communists and moderates to collaborate led to the imposition of the most evil government of the 20th century was met by derision. He asserted that Communists laugh at Trotsky’s words. As far as I can tell, he was all in favor of Trump continuing in the hopes of the worker’s revolution just around the corner.
