The storm’s pressure has already dropped to 921 millibars on New Year’s Eve, which is even lower than extreme cyclones that formed in the same vicinity in 2014 and 2015. It now qualifies as the strongest storm on record to hit Alaska, according to Rick Thoman, a climate scientist at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks.

By the numbers: The S&P 500 grew by 44.5% since Trump’s inauguration through the end of October 2020. This comes up short of former President Obama’s 66.1% through the comparable time period, but well above the -15.8% for former President George W. Bush.

So our local classical music station Is playing its top 250 list for the new year, and we’re now in the top ten. Which means they just did Beethoven’s 5th symphony, 5th piano concerto, are now doing the seventh symphony, and the sixth is next.
I love all of them, of course, but one after another? And not even any morons shooting fireworks to break in.
Maybe I’ll find some old twilight zone episodes or something.
