SF Anti-Circ ‘Intactivists’ Promote their Cause with Blatant Anti-Semitic Cartoons

“Monster Mohel” the arch-enemy of blond, Aryan “Foreskin Man”

The backers of a ballot initiative in San Francisco aiming to ban circumcision in that city have consistently maintained that their efforts are not anti-Semitic.

But the “Foreskin Man” comic book, which was written and edited in 2010 by the founder of a San Diego group supporting efforts to ban circumcision in San Francisco and Santa Monica, gives further credence to the accusation that so-called intactivists are in fact motivated by anti-Semitism.

“The imagery in ‘Foreskin Man’ is functionally Anti-Semitic,” Abby Michelson Porth, associate director of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), said. “The motives of the proponents of this ban are questionable given their direct connection with “Foreskin Man.”

I was seriously sickened to see that the Shrieking Harpie is also covering this story, and she has many, many more panels from the nazi comic than are really necessary to get the point across. Maybe that is to titillate her fans at Stormfront?

I’d personally like to see this comic get wide distribution because I think it will have an opposite effect. The people who are approaching this from a non-racist, ‘child rights’ perspective are going to get massively turned off by the obvious racism here. It’s like a Jack Chick comic.

Any law that makes it illegal or impossible to practice any faith, is anti-something-or-other. Sometimes it’s nothing more than anti-religion; in this case, however, the anti-semitism is very clear. And anyone who suggests those of a particular faith (or all faiths in general) should abandon basic core principles, tenets, rituals because it’s time to get in line with the idea du jour - well, I won’t say what I think about those folks.

I would be a lot more convinced by the anti-circumcisers in general if they focused on other issues that are roughly in the same area— like objecting to children playing sports on the grounds that injuries there are common, or objected to cosmetic pediatric orthodostistry, or swimming on the grounds that more than 800 kids die drowning every year.

I think circumcision gets attention because of the connection with sex, religion— and because there’s blood.

There’s definitely anti-semitism involved in this, and this comic makes that blatantly clear, but I know many of these zealots are just people who are convinced that male circumcision is equivalent to female circumcision and that their parents maimed/disfigured them to rob/cheat them out of the ability to enjoy sex. These people were so seemly crazy that they made the anti-vaxxers and 9-11 Troofers look completely sane and reasonable in comparison.

Is there any data to backup the idea that sex is better with a foreskin? I cant imagine the difference being worth wild-eyed activism and putting up with anti-semites.

Absolutely revolting! It just goes to prove that when it comes down to “winning” other people to your cause, one’s true biases will eventually show. I think we can all see that this proposed circumcision ban in SF was never about protecting male infants.

IMHO, it was about a bunch of self-righteous people “getting back” at Israel supporters in the USA in a really twisted (and convoluted) manner; as if somehow this would really make a difference in “solving” the problems in the Middle East.

This proposal should be given the full roasting by the good citizens of SF, and sent to the reject pile. For it is a mix of plain old Jew-hating, a heavy serving of the kind of nanny-statism that gives liberals a bad name, and a touch of anti-Islam feeling thrown in for good measure.

I do agree that this will likely doom the ballot initiative come November. Whatever its flaws, San Francisco is not a city that will go in for blatant Nazi stereotypes.
