Ann Coulter on Kent State Shooting: ‘That’s what you do with a mob’
I haven’t heard a whole lot out of Ann Coulter in quite some time, so it seems to me that she must want back in the spotlight pretty badly. On this clip from Hannity’s show on FNC, she begins by showing that she deliberately doesn’t care that the Democratic Party at the time of the American Civil War was the party that was opposed to central (and big) government, opposed to fighting a war against the South, and generally was what Republicans are today. I’m pretty sure she thinks her readers will see “Democrats” and immediately think of the modern Democratic Party, which didn’t become “liberal/leftist/progressive” until well into the 20th century.
Then toward the end of the clip she made a statement regarding the Kent State Shooting saying “that’s what you do with a mob.”
This raises a few questions for me.
If shooting people down is what you do with a mob, then does this mean that she’s OK with Bashar Assad shooting protestors? Is she okay with how Mahmoud Ahmadinejad handled the protests disputing the election results as fraudulent? Does this mean that the Boston Massacre, when the British killed five civilian men, was justified? Does this mean that the DC cops should have opened fire on the last Tea Party Rally on the National Mall? After all, unarmed or otherwise (as you may recall, the students shot at Kent State were unarmed!) by her logic, that’s what you do with a mob!
On a semi-related note, she has a new book out titled “Demonic.” In light of her recent comment, I find it interesting that the subtitle of her new book is “How the liberal mob is endangering America. ” She just said that those students at Kent State deserved to be shot because “that’s what you do with a mob.” Sure sounds like another veiled threat of violent murder from the far right against their political opponents.
