Border Patrol arrests Juarez police officer after he crossed the Rio Grande in hot pursuit
There’s a little more at this link.
A Juarez police officer was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol after he crossed the Rio Grande while reportedly chasing crime suspects early Friday evening near Downtown El Paso, an official said.
Border Patrol agents approached the uniformed officer on the U.S. side of the river and detained him without incident, said Agent Ramiro Cordero, an agency spokesman. The police officer was processed before being returned voluntarily to Mexico.

It would be nice if they described what “processed” means in this context.
I post this to illustrate how close some border communities are.
I went to a presentation last week by a French photographer who took a lot of melodramatic photos of the border wall. He opened by saying, “We gave you the Statue of Liberty, and now you are building a wall? Unbelievable!” I thought he was going to ask for the statue back. He totally skipped the El Paso area in his presentation. Didn’t fit the narrative, I guess.
