The leftie statements above reflect what my best friend and I agreed upon last night: Dick Morris failed, and badly at that. No qualifiers can be used, since he just plain read the electorate wrong.

I don't know what you mean by leftie statements but I am of the opinion Dick Morris was being deceptive on purpose about the coming election. He was serving a Baghdad Bob role for FOX news talk shows to rev up the base and keep them from losing heart. I am actually not buying the theory Dick Morris read the polls wrong. It was a purposeful con job on FOX news viewers by Dick Morris - my opinion.

You're a leftie, Destro. That's all I meant. I didn't mean it as an insult, but I said it to note that your statements are typically ones that I don't agree with, but I do agree with you on this matter.

I also think that this was Dick Morris' last hurrah. He blew it by such a large margin that conservatives won't be able to believe him much again. Even for the credulous, there are limits to how far wrong you can be with election results and survive politically.

In political rhetoric, 2+2=5 is sometimes seen, but in an election the greater number of votes still wins the state, and the pundit that fails to predict those votes continuously will be replaced.

Depends. If he was actually serving a Baghdad Bob role for FOX news he will not be gone. If he was genuine and thus failed professionally in being able to read the polls then he will be gone and forgotten, at least for a while. But since I think he was serving a Baghdad Bob role for the GOP boosting FOX I don't think we will see him punished in anyway.

I think he will be, if only because not all conservatives are so blinkered as to fail to see Morris' failure. Those who see will complain to Fox or stop watching when Morris comes on. I don't know if that will create enough pressure, but I hope so.

re: #5 Dark_Falcon

Can I ask you as a conservative, do you still believe these myths of the GOP? That taxation policies on the rich creates supply and demand in the market place and thus creates jobs aka "trickle down economics"? I used to accept this as fact because, well it sounded true and I was young and everyone said it worked under Reagan but Clinton came along and raised taxes on rich and the economy boomed. Even if tax policy by Clinton had zero to do with it, it clearly did not hurt the economy.

Do you still think power should be devolved from the Federal govt to the state after Hurricane Sandy showed that doing so in cases like FEMA would have meant there was no State level money for relief efforts for the victims?

Are you still of the right wing opinion that the Federal govt does not create jobs when clearly the fed govt working with the private sector in investing in creating a federal highway system, NASA and science spending (internet, computers, medicine, etc) have had a multiplying effect on the economy?

You called me a lefty, but I left the GOP party just because its ideology when applied to the real world, failed. Bush cut Clinton's tax rates - we saw no benefit. We started wars of choice and we got expensive unending wars and nation building, and chaos. On and on.

When do you admit your right wing ideology is a "god that failed" ?

I posted the above on it's own thread: [Link: littlegreenfootballs.com...]

He's there to deliver spin, not truth. If they still pay Sarah to bloviate there, why would they toss out Morris?
