Well, Cox just raised my internet-only service another $2/mo. Pretty soon it won’t matter if people want cable companies for TV, as the companies will charge just as much for “internet” connections as a fully loaded cable TV subscription costs.

It’s a pretty ingenious method to get around the redistribution issue. Customers are just leasing antennas that they can tune to whatever free broadcast shows they like.

Instead of killing cable, though, I think it may be more likely to kill over-the-air broadcasts.

How? They are watching commercials via Aereo, right? Hell, I may ask Aereo for a list of what TV shows are streamed where and sell commercials from my broadcast station to other parts of the country where I don’t broadcast if I was in broadcast that is.
