Did the breaking of the fourth wall, as it is said, bother you?

Over the many decades I’ve seen many Dr. Who episodes and the show has changed several times and changed back and forth as to how it has been written and directed; the current Doctor is being written, I think, to fit better the target market better than some of the Eccleston and Tennant episodes.

But I’m finding I don’t like the current run of episodes very much. I thought the Tennant era went too far in one direction, and the current Doctor episodes are going too far in another.

Moffat is becoming lazy, relying on Deus ex machina now as a regular plot element.

I liked it, though mostly the part at the end.

I have heard a theory that the part at the beginning and end was him speaking to Clara. After her going wow.

I could see the current Doctor doing deciding to get bird of paradise, and start swaggering around to impress Clara. Because, lets face it, Clara is far harder to impress than Rose.

I also want to add, that the Doctor is older now, as he spent 139 years in the coffin. His minimum age is now 3,454 years old.

To be fair, Clara is far older than she look because of the experiences of her echoes. Using estimates, Clara has the experiences of someone who is no less than 340 years old.

There was actually a thing in the recent comics, for the 4 Doctor Crossover. I will have to read it again, but I think it ended with her and the Doctor talking about how, because she is so enmeshed with his timeline, and how her mind works, that she won’t remember the events of that story. I will have to look at it again to be certain though.
