In 2 hours, another episode of Doctor Who starts.
However, I do have a question. This had been bothering me for a bit.
Suppose the Doctor finds how how stocks will perform in the next week, and made an investment, would this be insider trading? Love to hear your thoughts.

Easy one. Yes. I’d say time travel remains “non public” despite a few companions.
Insider trading is the trading of a public company’s stock or other securities (such as bonds or stock options) by individuals with access to nonpublic information about the company.

Not going to lie… I would use time travel to my advantage on sports gambling, a la Back to the Future. I would do other things, but I’d bet a lot of money on every long shot that I know would win

Glad they finally addressed the whole “regenerated face” matter, though I still think it’s a season too late. Also, damn how I’ve missed seeing Tennant and Donna, my favorite of the team ups since the rebooted series..

No certain about the ‘hybrid’ part, methinks after tonight’s episode that the alluded to hybrid was Maisie’s character…. after the supposed hybridization of the Daleks in episode 2 and her, it would be going overboard with the concept if they later introduced a third, especially if it’s Clara…

The theory I saw was that Clara became a hybrid when she was plugged into the Dalek.
Though, the American Comics just concluded an arc, where, like the Doctors, she will forget the events because her jumping in his time stream earlier. Apparently, her brain now reacts like a Time Lords. That was made canon tonight. Clara raised her hand in regards to fighting with swords. That happened in the Comics.

Actually from what I gathered, comics and audio stories were made canon before with Paul McGann’s Doctor in the “Night of the Doctor” mini episode, where he acknowledged his associates and companions from those (“Charley, C’rizz, Lucie, Tamsin, Molly - friends, companions i’ve known, I salute you”).
That stated, it would be odd for them to base a major plot point for the show on something that the majority of the viewers will probably not be familiar with IMHO…

I don’t think that is what they were talking about in The Night of the Doctor. That was purely Big Finish.
Time Heist canonized the British Comics.
Tonight canonized the American Comics.
The books are still in uncertain territory. The ones published recently (approved ny BBC and Moffat) are canon. Farther back, questions start coming up. Lungbarrow is definitely NOT canon though.

To be fair, Doctor Who has no canon. Moffat said that a show about Time Travel can have no canon.
But you can get groups of stories to come together cohesively for a single timeline.
This is why Moffat encourages fans to write Fanfiction.
Speculation in spoilers:
I can’t help but notice in the previews that Williams’ character is going by “the Nightmare” as a highwayman.
I’m super stretching, but way back around 9 or 10 he drops the name “Nightmare Child” in the midst of an exposition about the Time War. I do wonder if this is relevant, and we’re being set up for something longer than a two-episode arc.
Then again, there’s a whole Who-niverse of media and canon I’m unfamiliar with, so I might be Not Even Wrong.
