The Prophet Mohammed never killed anyone himself (at least I don’t think so…). He DID send zealous followers out on assassination missions several times, and personally ordered the slaughter of countless Jews at the hands of his army. Terror leaders are attempting to follow their prophet’s example. Osama bin Laden tries to emulate Mohammed any way he can, including adopting his “soft spoken” demeanor.

I agree with the sentiment that they should get what they claim to crave, but I can’t help noticing (and I’m not original in this observation) that for all their talk of loving death, their leaders are very solicitous of their own welfare.

Perhaps these folk should be thought of as hypocritical priests of a death cult; they preach it, but by golly, they don’t put on the bomb vests, do they?

No, death and killing is how they get their jollies, but they want to make sure that they’re around when it’s all said and done.
