I’ve been a sky watcher for many years. It’s amazing what you can see if you just look.

Years ago, I helped design a henge/ampitheater at the local state park. It marks the sunrise/set of the first day of each season. The sun rise/set is viewed through a set of wall notches and sits directly on the top of a pole as soon as it clears the horizon only on solstice/equinox days.

It was the perfect monument to state government…it only works 4 days a year- the rest of the time it just sits there.
