That’s the thing about future predictions, they generally are extrapolations of the point in time they’re made, relying upon then-existing or theorized advances in science/technology. Like how, back in the 50s and 60s, you see a lot predictions about computers still being hulking monstrosities, as the microprocessor was still years down the line.

Well, the American scientists were still reverse engineering all that great stuff we got out of the crashed space ships at Roswell.

(I have a friend that still believe that is where micro-electronics came from…after all, before there were micro-electronics, there wasn’t any micro-electronics. Proof!)
