Even this I can understand. They were concerned with safety, life jackets, fire extinguishers, etc. It’s a very serious situation and mistakes and adjustments will be made. When this is all over we’ll look back and decide what was done right or wrong. For now the best thing to do is hope for the best.

What about the ongoing refusal by the administration to allow dredging to build artificial barrier islands? In the face of an emergency, such steps that insult the environment are like backfires. Undesirable seen in isolation, but a necessary evil under the circumstances.
