The GOP is massively underfunding their HRP. $8 billion over 5 years, is barely a ripple in the market, which actually would be properly funded at $200 billion or more over that same period. Gaba, Spiro, and others have done the math, and the GOP simply doesn’t care.

They’ll underfund it, claim that they did what they could, and vote to kill people, because that’s the ultimate goal. They just don’t give a fuck. And GOP supporters are cheering them all the way to hell.

This is why I’m starting to think the House GOP are hoping the Senate will never take this up. If it doesn’t actually pass and get implemented, there’s only the CBO and other analyses to say how bad it is, whereas if it actually passed, it would be devastating to a lot of the GOP base.
