Right - we all have impulses and xenophobia somewhat hardwired into us by our social evolution as a species. So it’s true that you might have a bias and immediate reaction anytime you see a group of people “not of your tribe/family/group/religion etc.” There are centers in the fore brain however that mediate those instinctive fears of the other & of the outsider — just as you overcome other momentary fears. It’s when you reinforce the legitimacy of that original fear while living in a free and pluralistic society that you join on the fearmongers side.
