ACORN was targeted as a proxy for the POTUS. Since he was a community organizer/and they were community organizers… smear them? Smear him.

More than that - it was part of a multi-pronged attempt to destroy the voting base of the Democratic Party. It’s not just an ideological thing - they’re attempting to bring about very real consequences.

The attack on women’s rights, the attack on gay rights, the attack on unions, the attack on science — all of these are part of a coordinated effort.
