I was pretty damned tough in the five years that I served… I worked directly under the authority of the local PD, at one of the busiest crossings in the city (a five-street intersect).

I carried a voice recorder to record the plate numbers of offenders, people who were illegally parked, etc. You can’t even begin to imagine the asshattery of some people and much of it comes from the parents who are there to pick up their kids.

One of the guards who worked about a mile away from me, a good friend of mine, was struck and killed in my fifth year of service and that’s when I finally retired.
