And that was all likewise true when Bush was in office. But it didn’t stop the “Drill, Baby, Drill” crowd for yelling that we needed to open up ANWR, needed to open up our shores to off-shore drilling, needed to start exploiting oil shale, and all other kinds of lunacy.

If anything, expect to hear the same line over and over again in coming months: “If we’d done the drilling back then, like we said we should, that oil would be hitting the market now and prices would be done!”
