According to recent reports, the Russians seem to be paying Venezuelan trolls to destabilize Spain.

The language barrier may have been a factor quantitatively speaking, but I still saw some really heinous posts in perfect French that got laughed at by (alleged) Front National voters who resented being mistaken for idiots.

It helps that the Russian bots’ command of written English is generally better than a lot of Tea Partiers.
