As a Canadian I find it a little strange and just a touch off-putting. Having to claim so loudly how much a person loves their country seems excessive and a little false. Protesting too much.

As usual, it all depends on context. Is it a time of crisis? (See Ukrainian photos with flags). Is it the “in yo face”/”mindless” thing or is it the “true respect” thing? Etc.

I wonder how frequent the US flags are in the South btw.
