There’s a lot of truth to that. Slavery and Jim Crow laws would never have ended on their own had the decision been left to the majority. Same goes for minorities and women getting the vote.

I’m not saying I agree with all of it, but that’s because I don’t fully understand it yet. Wikipedia and the bits of reading I’ve done so far aren’t enough. But yeah, I can see it.
