I hate to get grim about this…but what are we supposed to expect from our own democracy at this point? We as a people cannot even reliably pass even a cursory exam on basic civics or American history. Huge swathes of the population are being badly mislead on simple facts related to our Revolution and formation of the Constitution in an era when correct information has never been easier to come by.

Well when you put it like that, it makes my Weiner shrivel in depression.

Oh, and it’s not a democracy, it’s “a republic, if you can keep it”.
