They’re both lying. The radical lefties will be at Walmart on Tuesday (after the attention dies down) buying worthless crap from China, and the wingnuts will be spending as little as possible because the reality of their checkbook is incompatible with their faux-patriotic consumerist pledge.

I used to work with a hipster activist guy who would attend all the rallies and protests. Every black Friday he would come in a few hours late to attend the Buy Nothing day rally and then spend the rest of the day at the cash register selling things. Even the anti-capitalist advocates don’t believe in their own cause.
