Well, to be fair, that case was pretty clear cut. The rifle caliber entrance wound to the head with no signs of a struggle would destroy any claim of self-defense, especially since Rogers was clearly drunk when the police arrived. But it does show the Sanford PD can actually do their jobs when they want to. But in Trayvon Martin’s case, they clearly did not want to.

Well. I doubt it. Robert Zimmerman pulled some strings and the Stanford PD followed the “word from high up.” That’s what PD’s do all the time 24/7. If not they were already thinking, “oh shit, this is that judge’s kid.”
