I love how they say that the whole book must be taken literally, except the part about it being easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. THEN they start hemming and hawing about mountain passes and allegory.
I like the “Revelations is literal, let me tell how to read the secret signs that it’s the Apocalypse people.”
They get very, very unhappy if you point out that a literal reading would mean a literal seven-headed monster coming out of the sea…and no Antichrist, since that title doesn’t actually occur as an individual, but as a plural noun describing people who aren’t Christlike.
Of course, they also don’t like the actual description of “antichrists” either, since it’s not so much a magic devil man as a person who’s greedy, un-empathetic, and cruel.
