Not that would, but they could. And an overweening government wouldn’t have to ban Christianity to make life miserable for believing Christians who disagree with it, or who land it decided to take to give to some Chinese mining company.

Fischer is an unapologetic follower of tribal morality; banning Christianity would be a terrible injustice…but it would be an injustice that would make a perfect excuse to social-engineer a society where Christians were the ones doing the punching downward. He’s the embodiment of my repeated refrain about the basis of the current brand of American “evangelical” social conservatism being about the future opportunity to mete out retaliation…both on a personal and metaphysical level.

I mean, that’s everything Fischer stands for…Real True Christians with the power, striking at everyone that’s not Of The Tribe. It’s literally fascism (in the Eco sense)…a tiered society where inequality is built into the basic morality—where some can do no wrong.
