A Honduran crosses the Rio Grande into El Paso, and asks the nearest uniform for asylum. A name is taken, a number given, and the Honduran is sent into Juarez to wait for attention. Juarez has the second highest murder rate north of Panama. Honduras is first. There are no safe countries now.

Hell, my favorite is the wingnuts who will insist Mexico is the first “safe” country they enter on the way to the US border…while also portraying it as a inhuman hellhole run by drug cartels where you can be murdered just for standing in the wrong place for too long.
