I was reading “Ordinary Resurrections” in a coffee shop and burst into tears—didn’t think reading a non-fiction book about education in the Bronx would require a safe place for reading, but apparently it did.
That Fred Rodgers worked with Kozol on some of his projects made me love Mr. Rodgers more than ever as well.
I loved that when the execrable Bernie Goldberg wrote his “100 People Who are Screwing Up America,” Kozol was number 9—definitely a badge of honor (Al Franken was #37)
I thought he was going to burst into tears talking to us! He looked so sad. I’m glad he’s still speaking at 80 (and so well!)
