Huh. His comment on what was written on the DVD was the first time I’d heard of Patton being an anti-war film. Only part I remember was when he was urging his army on to Bastogne and some troops said “There goes ole Blood ‘n Guts” and another said “Yeah, his guts, our blood.”
But how anyone can intrepret “The object of war is not to give your life for your country, it’s too make the other poor bastard give his life for his country.” as “anti-war” is beyond me!

Yep. And there’s also the fact that the movie clearly shows his highly aggressive tactics in Sicily as actually getting the job done, compared to the more timorous approach being followed previously.

I find the movie ambiguous on the “anti-war” thing.
