I say that stuff too. It’s like ethnic terms that a member of the ethnic group can say to one another but oh shit if someone outside the group uses it. If you called me a girl or used my name in the diminutive as a friend I wouldn’t think anything of it. Context is everything.

I used to have a lot of fun with white feminists attempting to correct us when using the term “girl” wrt each other.
