re: #169 Dark_Falcon

What’s happening to these requests? Is someone slacking off, or is the approval committee composed of cats (cats tend to spend most of their time sleeping on requests, sometimes literally)?

I’m not sure. What happens at that stage is not uniform. Some are approved (I think) by one of two people. Others require approval by managers (finance, accounting, etc.) there as well depending on what is being asked for. I suspect one issue is people being on vacation and thus items back up and are not processed.

There is an odd ebb and flow where things back up for a few days and then get approved all at once. Or a ticket goes through in a few hours while a very similar one sits for a week and a half.

Whenever I bitch loudly enough about it and toss something up the chain things tend to improve for few weeks.

I don’t like doing this since I do not know what the available resources and current workloads are on that side of the wall. I have enough empathy about being annoyed by this sort of constant demands being made when I am buried in work to not want to inflict it on others. And I have a fairly good relationship with my opposite numbers in Brazil who are probably going to catch the brunt of this, so I feel a little bad about triggereing it. (Though not too bad since they have not been responding to emails in the last two weeks.)

Oh joy. One of the project managers has appeared. That will get me directly questioned shortly about a few of these tickets. And then she will go directly to her boss (a VP) and complain. I should get an email from him asking what is going on by lunch time. Plus an email from my boss since the VP will talk to him as well. :(
