I live just a very short distance from the Napa Valley. And yet the wine that was all the way from Italy was the $14 bottle, and a bottle from a vineyard in Napa I could visit in person in under an hour was $60.

You explain it.

The Napa people expect you to get a thrill thinking that they are redistributing your money to their friends at various progressive causes. The Italians expect you to enjoy the wine with a good meal.
