The Tulsa Race Riots (started by whites because blacks had the audacity to make money) only killed three hundred, but their entire section of the city was burned to the ground.
Tulsa was the real big one. There was Chicago in 1919 I think, and Rosewood in 1923. Neither event had massive body count (in the low dozens) , although both (especially Rosewood) had significant property damage. Racial motivated deaths over the last 150 years tended to be masses of relatively small numbers that added up and up and up….
