Except the Birther so cons don’t think Romney’s a good man. They hate him. They hate him for Mass healthcare reform. They hate him because of his flip flopping bullshit on abortion rights. They hate him for waffling on equality for gays. They simply find the man to be an utterly untrustworthy political lycanthrope. They aren’t voting for Romney, at best they’re voting against Obama and dismissively tossing their main, cherished, fundamental argument against Obama’s legitimacy under the bus is absolutely going to be taken as rank disrespect. Many of them will revolt. They’d rather see the party and the nation burn than not get their way in even the smallest thing, and they don’t see this as a small thing.
