the theory is that had Nixon’s bad actions in Watergate not first hobbled then destroyed his administration, the US could have provided South Vietnam wit the aid and air support it needed to keep the North from invading. Remember, the fall of the South in 1975 came not from a popular uprising but from a crushing blitzkrieg from the North.

Quite similar to how the Blue Dress incident hobbled Clinton’s ability to adequately deal with Saddam Hussein.
