No Democrat holds statewide elected office here. Saturday our local prog group met to plan a 2018 suicide run for Representative, in case the incumbent is indicted or hit by stagecoach in the week before election day.

Your comment makes me think (not in a bad way) of Anymouse and his constant plead for an all-states participation of the DNC.

Does Alabama have any Democratic structure or is it pretty dead in the weeds from years of neglect and being beaten down?

The differences in the two states are fairly clear, but the results seem to be the same. No real Democrats in office.

However, the similarities are also evident.

So, the answers to Anymouse’s plea may be in a study of the two and those similarities. But, I don’t know enough of all the details to know if it is money, organization, hate of liberals, etc.
