She is now actually a supporter of Single Payer, having had her eyes opened. That is just one example of the difference we really can make. Can we do that with all of them? No. But joining in on the hatred of The Other is not a place I will go.

I think the key factor is being able to differentiate between those who are ignorant in the traditional sense of the word (e.g. don’t know gay people personally, brainwashed by wingnut family/fox), and those who are willfully ignorant (e.g. the gaslighting jerks who’ll repeat the same damn lie even if it’s been debunked right in front of their face).

The former are reachable, the latter are not.
