I think the first time that the media called a state “wrong” (or, in this case, too early) was in 2000 with FL. They overcompensated in ‘08 by insisting on waiting long after most experts had called places like OH because they didn’t want another last-minute change in the totals to foul their calls.

Not to mention that it was a Bush cousin who was working as a reporter for Fox News who was the first to report that W had won Florida, getting that particular ball of shit rolling.
